Okay i see
Now i am trying it with the feature marker and it keeps saying “too few markers”. I tried with the dots but it doesnt pick them up.

You will need markers and lots of them , white dots will not works in this case . You can also try a black plate with white dots on top , it works as well .
You can also stick white dots on top of a black garbage bag , put your object on top and handheld scan the object making sure at least 3 dots/markers are visible at time in your preview window .
BTW Dual Axis turntable finally working with the new Revo Scan software ( MINI only for now )
you can download it from here : [Windows] Revo Scan - V4.1.0 Beta Released!
increased the speed to 50 sec per rotation , the 40 was much too slow but may be better for scanning color textures .
going to see how well it scan color textures now .
Here test with Dual Axis automatic capturing of textures
I changed the Turntable settings to better capture the top textures
Texture Mapping
RGB color per vertex
this is my personal testing duck I made in Zbrush, printed and painted for testing color capture with MINI
if your outlet is on the right side , it would be 10/0/-29 if on the left then 29/0/-10
Off topic but my wife just got “ducked” down in Chincoteague, VA on vacation We own a Jeep Compass and it seems people do this like, duck duck jeep LOL I saw your little test ducky and it made me think of that picture she sent me yesterday.
that’s cute Mike, congrats to your wife lol , my son won a whole bag of the jeep jeep ducks at school , I scanned couple of them in early posts as well , there’s Facebook group of 44K ducked members LOL … We was never ducked while owning our jeep, they stolen it

Anybody have a good recommendation for a resin printer , not need to print huge objects , as long it can print very fine objects with very fine details and I can use water washable resin with .
@zedabyu @KnightRid what you are using ?
I use Elegoo Saturn and print a lot with Water washable. The new Saturn 2 has significantly more resolution.
However, I have a question about the Mini. Or rather about the turntable: how do I prevent the objects from slipping off?
I was looking on it the other day , is it good enough for print fine jewelry or you suggest to get the Saturn 2 ?
you got in your package the sticky blue putty, use that to attach the model to the turntable , not need to be much , little bit is enough . I also use black silicone mat , it help the model to not sliding down too , you know the one you use under hot pots …
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0929146DL/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A31HUNMNCJTSXB&psc=1
you can also buy other black silicone mat and cut out the desire circle , but the one above holds nicely to some degree depends of the side of the model and weight .
Compared to FDM, the Saturn resolution is in a different league. But that certainly applies to all resin printers. I don’t have a Saturn 2, so I can’t make a comparison there. But I can print an example and send photo if that helps somehow. I just need an example stl.
I didn’t notice the blue putty at all, but will try it.
That would be great, thank you, I will prepare something for you for a test . Thank you
it is a strip , white with blue text paper on top , each package have it
Do you have some numbers that qualify as “very fine”?
One of my clients uses a FormLabs printer (the 2, as I recall), but the current version is the Form 3 with 25 µm layer height as well as XY resolution.
I have had good success with Elegoo Mars, but, from others it sounds like the Saturn is a step above that. The brand has been reliable so +1 for Elegoo. Use good quality resin, but I’d expect you’d do that anyway.
You’ll also need a UV cure station. I use a home brew turntable but RevoPoint basic turn table with a UV light and a clear cylinder that holds water is all you need for that. 10minutes of water cure is the ticket.
I use the Form 3 from Formlabs. It’s reliable, which saves a lot of time, but is also very expensive in terms of the machine itself and the materials it uses. I value time more so I went for it. However, I don’t think they support water washable resin.
Back to topic, does dual-axis turntable still only supports MINI after the official V4.1.0 release of Revo Scan?
I am new to resin printers that why I am asking , usually on my FDM I use 50 µm layer height , but 25 µm looks like a winner here … thank you for your suggestion, I will check it out .
Thank you I was browsing Elegoo products the other day , was not sure if Anycubic 8K would be better or not.
I am going to use wax resin for metal casting and other good quality resins like dental resin and others as the fine details are very important .
I checked already the washing and curing stations as well .
Thank you , I saw your results , very impressive, I will check it out , thanks for the tip @zedabyu
It still only for MINI , once they fix the firmware issue they may focus on other scanners as well .
I had no issues upgrading the firmware on all my devices .
I checked today by scanning jewelry with it , I got used to my YT-100 dual axis already , it is more versatile for me and I have 35 degrees tilt . With the Revopoint Dual Axis I still missing some areas like under the chin when scanning figurines or missing parts of the jewelry . But it is already better than standard rotation turntable for sure . The overlap of the frames gives me some troubles as the point cloud are much more messy after fusing however meshing cleaning it up nicely. I guess you can’t have everything but it is a good improvement.
As they say , if you don’t have what you like, you have to like what you have
I just have an Ender 5. I keep wanting resin but then all the post-processing, smell, chemicals…blech, just turns me off lol I would love the detail! I like the newer ones with automatic resin feeders so you don’t have to keep watching that vat if you print big objects. Also I would check for replacement lcd prices too ass some of them are extremely expensive! Of course if you focus on the DLP printers then you don’ have to worry. Example - DLP Series – ANYCUBIC 3D Printing - or if you have the money, Formlabs but they are SUPER expensive.
Would be neat to get Peopoly to try and print a guitar body in one shot on their big boy!
Thanks Mike , the LCD are not that expensive to change , but you have to change it often if you print a lot .Some folks said every 3 months .
DLP is the answer here I guess .
But I think I will take little longer time and research all of them .
I know about the mess with resin printing
But now they have nice washing stations already and less smelly resins than before . I still enjoy more traditional way of printing but I reached my limits .
I think the decision only got harder as I learned more .
