MINI- PUTV 3D Models Showcase Progress & Tips

I’m only using the FDM printers so far, but everything I read about the Original Prusa SL1S SPEED 3D printer indicates it is a very good choice. On their forum people are discussing using the water washable resin with it. Capable of 10 µm layers but normally 25 µm.

I was staying away from these printers due to their nasty chemical handling needed for the resins and the wash. Sounds like there are more friendly choices starting to come out.

My Prusa FDM printers are very solid, so the SL1S would be my prime choice.

Thanks Barry , yes it looks like a solid SLA printer , however the volume it can print vs price is very high, you pay half of it for the brand name here . Prusa printers power is their software , and I love to use their slicer for my Mega X that prints amazing with it compared to Cura .

I think I will go with the Elegoo Saturn 2 8K , I saw many reviews today and examples of many prints , it would fit my needs .

The XY resolution is 26µm , layer thickness is 10 to 20µm and Z -Axis Accuracy is 0.001mm what is also what I was looking for .

As long as I can print layer height at 20µm I am good as I need it for dental prototypes, resins are easy to be polished so that would be enough.

We see how it works in practice :+1:

Yes, Prusa is higher price than many of the clones. Their software is very good and constantly being upgraded with usable features.

Their hardware is also rock solid, which is a lot of why they are more money. They just work. And the SL1S is fast!

With most of the clones, you will spend more time making adjustments to get them working right. And more frequent break downs.

Not trying to start a fight. There are other great printers out there.

In general, you get what you pay for.

I also had a good long look at the Elegoo Saturn 2 8K. Impressive!

Most resin printers these days just work. I’ve got a Mars 2 and other than replacing the FEP film a couple of times and the LCD once (because I spilled resin on it) it’s been reliable and consistent.
The water-washable resins are a bit of a con. They don’t really wash very well in water at all. I’ve tried several of them. Plus, I’d be wary of washing something toxic like resin down the drain.
The wash and cure station is a must have. It turns dealing with prints from being a massive faff to being reasonably straight forward.
I would be wary of going with the large build volume machines though unless you are planning to do full build plates all the time and need the size. The larger machines come with other issues that the smaller machines don’t such as being much more picky about the FEP film tension and more susceptible to issues caused by the suction of the large build plate in the resin. The smaller 2k and 4k machines are more than capable of producing prints where you cannot perceive the layer lines or resolution artifacts unless you are using a magnifying glass to look at them. Even then, a quick spray with lacquer gets rid of them.
If this is your first step in to resin I’d get something like a Mars 3 to see how you get on with it.

I can’t vouch for the smell, but the FormLabs Form 3+ has a washing station add-on. The web page wasn’t very detailed, so I can’t tell if it plugs in to, or sits beside, the printer.

I completely agree with you , but you know next year there will be already another types of printers , the hardware changes so fast . Today gold, tomorrow nobody interested in . As with all electronics, so I don’t want to get too crazy , if it works I will be happy if not I will look for a better one .

Thanks @Rilot , I need it for making wax castings and molds , if for regular use I would not bother too much , but having any lines will cost me too much work to get rid of it , also in dental work or molds you don’t want that .

I am going to see how it works and I am quick learner , and yes I will use the whole plate with multiple prints at once .

I saw that using ultrasonic washer works best with the water washable resins best .
They also recommend to use Elegoo water washable resin for best results .

I know , I have my eyes on Anycubic washer and curing station , my nose will not enjoy it , same when casting dental molds in acrylics , I will never get used to it either, and it is 10 times worse smell than resin .

Most of those resins put out fumes that are toxic. These printers ‘should’ be used with a fume extraction system to be safe. Some printers offer an exhaust port so that you can at least vent it outside.

I haven’t investigated this water washable resin yet, but at least not needing a big container of alcohol for washing is a step in the right direction.

The washing station should probably also have an exhaust vent that can handle flammable vapours.

Definitely Barry , not for plan to breathing anything if it . The Saturn 2 has a filter on the side to eliminate some of the smells while printing .
I work always with good ventilation since I work with cold curing acrylics and they have a killer smell while curing .

I just got letter from YouTube

Hi Pop Up The Volume,

Our team has reviewed your content, and, unfortunately, we think it violates our spam, deceptive practices and scams policy.

How scanning a DeWalt battery is a spam and scam … they are nuts
I run other channels for over decade and never saw something like that before .

Now you can’t even post a video how to do things right , or idiots will flag you for scamming.

I don’t think it is all worthy my time anymore , you can’t cure stupidity.

This is awful! I am sorry for what happened. :smiling_face_with_tear: And I don’t know why they did that. And how can they say it’s spam or… after reviewing your video. So unrespectful. If you don’t want to post on YouTube, you can post on Facebook or here. We are always having your back and appreciate your work!

Youtube has really gotten ridiculous on some things over the years! I would definitely write them and find out how you can get it back up since it was not spam or deceptive at all. If you are scamming people wouldn’t you ask for money…???
They did the same thing with cigar reviews I did that had a couple seconds of music in them even though I linked to where to purchase the music they decided to get rid of every one of them.

Do you think it was disgruntled revopoint owners that flag your videos because they could not produce the same results as you So they lashed out?
Seems likely they assumed you are a Revopoint shill producing propaganda making the mini and pop 2 look better and more user friendly then they think it is, not understanding that you have a huge amount of experience and technique that is the key to your success.

My advise is F#ck those clowns and keep doing your thing! Your videos and impact on this site is one of the main reason I purchased these devises and recommended them to others.

I for one see the huge valve you add to this venture.

Or ignorance in a lot of cases is also in incurable.

I hope you keep up the great work despite the all the losers out there.

Your loss would be a huge blow to Revopoint and this community.

Don’t they, at least, provide a link to contest their decision? As you say, stupid and +5 to @TinWhisperer for saying what we all feel about your work.

PS: PLEASE DO NOT use Facebook! I’ll never see it!

I second this . Facebook is a waste.

Someone must flagging my videos as spam , Amazon did the same and blocked my account from posting reviews after I posted review for Revopoint devices saying it was suspicious activity and behavior, . This is ridiculous

Thanks Selina :green_heart: maybe I will do

I will write back with Appel to find out how I am spamming and scamming people with a tutorial saying nothing about buying anything .

Yes that is exactly what I thinking, they did the same on Amazon removing my reviews . I am getting crazy comments from trolls so I just block them , they saying nonsense like it is all a lie and fake , MINi and POP2 have no WiFI and all is just Chinese propaganda :joy:
I am sure they don’t even own it , just trolling around .
Haters gonna hate , you can do nothing about .

Many of them blame Revopoint for putting down Creality Lizard on KS , what is of course not true . But the hate continues.

They should be mad on Creality for plagiarism in first place , as that was the reason in first place that got them in troubles.

Thanks @TinWhisperer we see what they say about my Appeal and hopefully I get some answers .
