I have downloaded and installed Revo Scan 5.5.2.1680 (RS5) on my Windows 10 Enterprise machine. Unfortunatelly, the “Software Update” dialogue keeps popping up whenever I run Revo Scan.
When I skip and continue to run RS5 and open a new project I’m getting the “Not enough point clouds captured”.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much in advance.
You get the pop up because there is a newer version ;
I see you use Revopoint Mini. You have to choose proper distance, scanning mode, exposure and press scan. If nothing shows in the preview window (I see the exposure is already maxed out) the material of the object might be too dark or else “invidible” to blue light. Then you have to make it visible by applying some scanning spray - you can buy those or DIY. POP2 - PUTV 3D Models Showcase Progress & Tips - #148 by PUTV
Please, don’t get me wrong, but have you read the manual and watched the tutorials (https://youtube.com/@revopoint3d?si=2PcBo-DBdypmHB7t). There are PLENTY informations there . Please start there and let us know if there are still any problems.
Also, please move this post to “Discussions” or “Support & Feedback” as it is fits there better.
You’re using Mini and trying to scan an object that absorbing blue light and is very difficult to see by Mini
Avoid yellow, red, green and orange colors when scanning using Mini
Use 3D spray or choice another object.
You can also try the setting " dark object" it can sometimes improve capturing the difficult colors .
Nothing else you can do here
Another tip, Mini and any 3D structured scanner requires the object to have features to be able to be tracked and scanned, your object is flat and have zero features that why you need to use marker mode when scanning this type of objects .
Just start learning with something that have one color/ white or gray with lots of details as for starter
And then I click to download “new” version but it remains the same even when I install and eventually restart the computer. I already have 5.5.2.1680, 5.5.2.1680 (1), 5.5.2.1680 (2), 5.5.2.1680 (3), 5.5.2.1680 (4) in my downloads folder.
I’ll try manual download ASAP.
I also tried the “latest” version with the small white bust that comes with Revo Point but I still get the the “Not enough point clouds captured” message. I could not find any post about that message here in this forum and that’s why I was allowed to add a new topic.
I was able to scan the bust in older version of Revo Scan maybe 12 months or so ago.

I found a smilar problem others had with pop 3. But maybe it is related and might help?
No problem with you adding a new topic But there are different areas in this forum for better overview and I think your topic fits better in “Discussions” or “Support & Feedback”. I know it might take some time to get used to the use of the forum. I´ve been here for quite a long time and still learning about its functions
