I gotta really finish my vape bumper project I started ages ago… I’ve gotten much better at reverse engineering stuff from scans since i started it lol
Cleanup and remesh outside RS5 andl texture inside RS5.
RS5 has to be capturing snapshots of the frames and these shots must be referenced to the fram point align, somewhat like what happens on Reality Capture or Meshroom. Most likely there is a “camera” shot that the software can access but users cannot.
The trick is to mesh the model you want to use as texture, and overwrite that meshed model with the mesh you want to texture. as lond as the position is the same it will work great. If one however translates the matrix of the model this will be the result
Here is the capture frames as a video, video was made with a new tool i have developed for this pourpose that take the cached frame images (when capturing with texture) and generates a player that one can scrub and analize and also export to a video.
This one is still in alpha but it is a (MVP) and should work fine with any system. As always executable single file is available for download for windows only… other systems must use the python script
Case studie: using revopoint Pop3 to acelerate and improve CNC mold remachining ease and precision - Pop3 was used to quickly scan the model already aligned and fixed to the CNC table - Model was then decimated in PrusaSlicer for use with fusion 360 - Referecended and aligned to planes - Used as stock to for the CAM software - CAM programed and simuated over the stock part and mold was remachined
