Why such poor Mac support in 2025?

Yeah it won’t get rid of the warning (Revopoint need to fix the signing of their app), but will allow you to open it to install.

It says “The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error-1).
This is so frustrating as I have had it since the release and now the software is out I still cant use it.

Hi @DisappointedMetroY

I told you to contact customer@revopoint3d.com

For technical assistance , everyone else made it to work . I wish I could help you but I only use Windows .

Just adding that I was about to buy this until I noticed Macs aren’t fully supported. Kinda ridiculous considering how good Macs are at rendering and media creation. You guys should really hire a Mac Dev, there’s a entire market here you’re missing out on

Hi @Hinchy

Personally I do agree but 3D scanning is not about rendering or media creation , the low resources and constantly changes make it just less friendly for developers with all the greedy licensing and stuff , I would blame it on the company as they make it more and more difficult and expecting the world to adjust in no time. For that reason it always falls behind. It is just not developer friendly.

Revopoint is aware of the upcoming changes and those will be adjusted in the proper time .

…the Apple Developer Program costs $99/year and that includes support from Apple and access to beta versions of the OS so you can get your software out the door on release day. The compiler is free, and you don’t need to distribute software via Apple’s App Store if you don’t want to.

I mean, Macs are the best-selling laptop on Amazon by a huge margin, accounting for 42.6% of the market last month. The Mac Mini with M4 Pro is Amazon’s best-selling desktop computer as I write this. It’s not a niche market, it’s the biggest part of the market right now and Revopoint seems to be ignoring it…

Well at least the mac mini isn’t that popular because people actually use it normally but because it is very good for building local AI clusters.

Also 3D scanning is a very niche market, so even if macbooks are the bestseller on amazon (also not the only store in the world…) it doesn’t mean that macbooks make the biggest share in 3D scanner users. Would strongly expect that most 3D scanner users are using windows and would be also likely happy to see support for AMD or Intel GPUs/iGPUs
