Why such poor Mac support in 2025?

Yes, those CPUs are all ARM based.

Indeed they are. I think there is some confusion between the “Intel Only” state of the PC software and the MacOS hardware support. If it were truly Intel Only for Mac, there wouldn’t be many machines able to run it.

I’m chomping at the bit to get the MacOS version onto my M2 Max MBPro, since all the PC hardware I have is a bit long in the tooth to run with the MetroY. The data rate is just a bit too high. My MBPro should be well able to handle it.

How close is the release now? I was about to order a MetroY Pro but the product page says Mac is both supported and not supported.

Is there a beta available?

You can find out here

Ah, thanks for the info.

So my options are to take advantage of the Black Friday sale and hope I’m not buying a doorstop, or wait until (if) the Mac software is released and pay $264 more.

Sorry , but that decision will be all yours here.
Please sent your feedback to customer@revopoint3d.com expressing your thoughts about it . Every voice counts !

Do you by any chance have a more specific release date in the meantime?

I even tried running RevoMertro on my steam deck as I don´t have any other computer that can run

windows, but it is too slow to be useful…

It would be really great to at least have a beta version.

No I don’t have at this moment and I had just conversation with the team about . Not early than in December .

Hopefully the upcoming beta will be good enough already to recruit some public beta users. I keep an eye on this and will let you know.

Can you please ask developers a simple questions:

if this new application will run - inspire 2 - in laser mod on new MacOS system with M chips ?

It will be native application or based on windows emulation ?

so making it simple - will we have opportunity soon to use laser mod and new MacOS system together? I know this application is bit delayed, understand, but will it work as we ask ?

Thanks in advance for your help and fast reaction which help us make decision in BF time

Hi @robert-ert

The office is closed for the weekend, but will ask for you on Monday

Have a great weekend!

Thanks - it’s important for me to make decision at Monday.

I already left note to the team , once I have reply will let you know .

any news  ? thanks

Hi Robert

The upcoming MAC version of Revo Metro will be still the regular version as usual .

The native app support is considered for the upcoming year but right now , there is not a specific date regarding it as the final decision on the deadline need to be approved by the Boss. The teams are completely aware on the situation and needs.

That’s all I got back from the team for now.

Sorry I was hoping to bring you a better news this morning .

Thank You, truth information is better than setting wrong expectations
So for now its clear decision - there will be version for macOS but still over Rossetta but they willl work before the support for Rosetta will be closed.
Now we are clear  thanks again

Just one more  sorry - if Metro X will work with crossline on MacOS or just paraller ??

All modes will work on the upcoming MAC version of Revo Metro , the release will be this month .

You can still use Revo Scan MetroX with MetroX that is available currently for Windows and Mac , after Revo Metro MAC version is released you can switch .

Software: Revo Scan MetroX & upcoming Revo Metro

For use with MetroX

Minimum requirements :

MacOS

CPU: M1 Pro/Max/Ultra

RAM ≥ 16GB

Recommended :

MacOS

CPU: M2 Pro/Max/Ultra, M3 Pro/Max/Ultra

RAM ≥ 24GB

MacOS version is now available but does not even open as MacOS cannot confirm its free from malware and is not verified. When will this be fixed? I’ve had my MetroY Pro for almost 6 weeks and cannot use it.

@DisappointedMetroY Go to System Settings, then Security Settings. Scroll down and you should see something like “RevoMetro 5.8.4 31 (1) pkg” was blocked to protect your Mac. Click on Open anyway.

I did exactly that but even after it says it cannot verify the software.
