Thank you for responding. I’ve tried all cands of USB ports hubs, cords, plugs, etc. with no luck. Its detecting something because it will thow a pop-up windo on the scanner and on the mac, but thats as far as it goes. it doesnt show up as a device, scanner, drive, etc. It also doesnt work in WIFI mode with my M1 Mac. I get the feeling there aren’t a lot of Mac developers at the company. It feels like a quick port to MacOS (probably Intel, not silicone) that doesnt work. I just need some way to get the files off the scanner without a windows machine. I have also tried revoscan for IOS to see if I could transfer, but that doesnt work with the Miraco either. I’m sure once a few more mac folks file bugs - it will eventually get resolved.
We have beta testers that used MAC and they had no issues with importing files via USB or WiFi , so it don’t means it don’t works on MAC , it just don’t works on some systems . I would not associate this issues with any brands of computers , and off the record I believe that the issue is related to charging of Miraco when connected via USB what interrupts the data flow . There is not other logical explanation.
BTW the pictures you showed , it don’t works this way .
Transfer data mode do not connecting the MIRACO to Revo Scan the way you think it will do , it only activate the connection to the hard drive of Miraco .
The PC mode connecting MIRACO to the Revo Scan and is only used to scan with Miraco
So after you connected to Transfer data mode and click OK , go to the Revo Scan menu bar and select import from Miraco/USB and the import Library should open .
Transfer Data : importing projects to Revo Scan 5 via USB
PC Mode : Scanning using Miraco using Revo Scan 5 ( for some systems it may be problematic to archive stable connection )
Thanks for the info. I think I get the difference between the data transfer and the scanning from desktop features. I thought the scanner might be transferring in the background (the screen says it is) but no bits seem to move. There is no response from the system or revoscan client.
Did you used the white charging data cable to connect to your computer ? Or you used just the charging cable that go with the turntable ? Because that cable is not a data cable .
If you don’t have a proper USB 3 C port on your computer , you need an adapter USB C to USB A .
WiFi mode is used only to import projects between your computer and Miraco and for nothing else as long both are on the same network .
If you do have all proper ports and still not responsive on your Mac , please write to customer@revopoint3d.com for making appointments to checking out your Miraco hardware .
I used the included thick usb-c to usb-c, but I have tried a variety of cables including hi quality apple and a 100W, 10Gbps USB C 3.2 Data Cable. Based on your theory about charging/data flow conflict I have also tried running it through both powered and passive hubs. I even tried a usb a to c cable with an adapter. Today I’m going to test with some new scans to see if maybe data is transferring in the background and the Mac and revoscan desktop client are just not providing any user feedback. I don’t get even the Mac security pop-up “trust this usb device” so I’m guessing it’s not connecting. Thanks again for the ideas/help I appreciate it!
OK one question , when you connect the cable to Miraco and MAC , do you have any pop up window on Miraco about Data transfer / PC mode ? or do you have a USB settings visible under Miraco settings ? if you do the USB is connected successfully, if you don’t , there is not connection at all between the devices . The best I dictator …
also if you do have the pop up or USB under settings , please click the Data Transfer and OK … it should activate the convection on your MAC or PC
I have an M2 Mac Studio and Sonoma 14.1.2. Connected to one of the front USB-C ports with the white included cable I don’t get any indication it can be accessed as a drive, but it does work in Revoscan using File/Import from MIRACO/USB.
It charges at least.
Ha! Yes - glass half full. Such is the life of an early adopter
When I do this, I only get a popup in RevoScan telling me to connect the Miraco to my MacBook, even though it is already connected and the Miraco is in data transfer mode. I used the supplied cable.
This info is the same as in my first message as topic starter, but the topic seems to be a tiny bit hijacked for similar (but not exactly the same) issues.
Yes that’s what always happens here …everyone hijacking others threads … but the reason is they hope more people see their issue to help them out so not malicious intentions here …
Ok I made a screenshot of my situation.
Recap: When I connect the Miraco with the supplied USB-C cable, the Miraco shows the popup asking for data transfer mode or PC mode. I click Data transfer mode.
After that, you can see that my system has a REVO PRODUCT connected over USB, however, the Revoscan software doesn’t do anything. When I choose file → import from Miraco → USB, I get the popup as shown in the screenshot.
My guess is that it’s some sort of permissions problem. Revoscan also ask if I want to allow incoming connections every time I start it.
On the Miraco Display it actually says that this is how it should work. Check the latest line. No USB drive support on MacOS, only via Revoscan.
The Revo Scan do nothing , you need to select the Import from Miraco/USB option in menu bar after your USB and Data Transfer is set up …
Only in PC mode the Miraco hardware is used for scanning and connection is active on screen , Data Transfer mode is not unless you click the Import from Miraco/USB
The PC mode was the latest feature that was added , it was originally not planned at all , only Data Transfer , so I guess the dev.tesm needs a little more time to perfect this feature .
The first proper thing will be to shut down the charging while connected as Data or PC , it probably interrupt all the process and I am more than 99.99% sure .
This situation is evaluated and solution is in progress … hopefully soon
I tried that as well (as I described).
I’m not trying to use PC mode.
That’s still a mystery why for some it works fine and for others it don’t … and that’s not only with MAC , but also with some win laptops and PCs .
Dev.Team last conversation was blaming it on the cable , however the same cable working fine one one device but not on another … so USB port issue ? Bios power setting issue ? I tried everything, never made it work on my win11 PC …but on my win11 tablet both modes works just fine …
For now I run out of new ideas … waiting for some smart brains to solve it once and for all …
But my charging theory my be the ultimate solution since MIRACO is very power hungry , on top it will stop degrading the batteries on MIRACO as well . We will see what dev team come up with after New Year.
Hi @Bjrno , I just got brand new cable and guess what ? Miraco working in PC mode on my PC after over 2 months trying …
Of course I used powered hub with that cable for better support for the power since MIRACO still charging…
