Hi @yannick
To run and proceed Full Field and Auto mode you need at least
Ryzen 5 4500U
For Laser mode no lower than
Ryzen 5 7600 ( it did not worked using Ryzen 5 5600G )
Plus RTX 3050 or equivalent to it
33GB is minimal requirements but you may have not enough memory to process bigger scans at higher settings .
Remember that MetroX produces very dense 3D scans of 50 millions points to 180 millions polygons , to process that you really need s proper workstation .
Or your waiting time for processing will take forever .
I have a CPU Intel(R) Coreā¢ i7-6820HQ
and NVIDIA Quadro P4000
Mainly i have to scan 10x10x10 cm items.
Will that be sufficient for full field and auto mode?
Even scanning a palm of the hand requires more than 16GB for processing at full quality .
The Minimum requirements are not for nothing .
If you encounter issues nobody will able to help you .
But before you waste money for a new laptop , experience it first and see if you can do it ā¦
Scanning yes, but you will need a very good patience for the processing time .
I know you looking for a quality scanning , but not with that laptop
ā mumbles something about eight 64-core 1TB RAM servers with dual Nvidia Teslas at work and that people might be wondering why their workloads are running slower than usualā¦
Donāt go with the slowest , if that is good idea ? Well electronics are electronics
But I bought 10 years ago windows tablet on Ali and it still working for $200 battery holding like crazy , so sometimes you have a good buy .
I know you want best scans and fast , this is your choice but whatever you do , donāt go for the i7 please ā¦ and at least 32GB minimal
Personally, I wouldnāt buy a laptop from AliExpress. Warranty claims will be difficult. Much better to pay a bit more and buy from a supplier that operates in your country.
I never do more than tablets an the one I got have 2 systems , win/Android best buy ever lol
I create my own computers , never will buy it online again
Why not buy a motherboard, case, ram, cpu, psu, and gpu and put one together? You can easily build something great for less than 2k. I just replaced the motherboard, cpu, and ram in my main PC for Ā£800 and that was with a Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 64GB DDR-5.
