Whoop Whoop big 3D Laser Scanner!

I’ve always wanted this, I’m excited to see the details!

Oh boy, do I have some ideas how I’m going to use this when I get my hands on it? You bet I do.

This could be quite the disruptive product.

We got Miraco just before Christmas last year. Looks like it’s going to be another Revopoint Christmas this year.

For me, the coolest 3D scanners have blue lasers. We need to recreate the opening scene in Aliens.

I wonder if it needs a PC with a video card to work. The main thing I love about Revopoint is not needing that.

PC without graphic card will not work , but I know what you mean by that . Scanners that need expensive graphic cards to work are sadly less popular on the market for anybody . Not fan of that .

Just remember Metro X is not a POP … it is more powerful scanner intended for more professional scenario work . It needs good resource to run efficiently.

Wait for the KS page to get all the info you need .

That’s what I was thinking. My PC with a graphics card died recently but even when I did have it I didn’t have much room near it for scanning things.

I’d be surprised if Revopoint made massive system requirements for this to work. They know that a lot of their users use laptops and windows tablets to scan for the portability.
One of the key deficiencies of one of their competitors scanners is the utterly ridiculous system requirements.

can future RS can render the mesh by using all GPU and CPU core (mac and PC), coz i found that fusion is great, it use all cpu and GPU cores, but only 1 core with mesh process ( but Mac M1Pro and PC - amd TR1950x/ 1080TI)

i thought it’s a submarine, so X can work underwater :joy:

PUTV will correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this is by design as people were complaining that it was locking up their machines during the meshing process.

it would be great if the application can customize the maximum ‘rendering’ core
hardware is great, any model and brands, most of the problems is the application
i dont have another brand scanner, only read the comment from the web

Yes that would be great if you can choice how many threads you want to use for the processing , but sadly GPU will not be one of them , Cloud Compare or ZBrush don’t use GPU for a reason and they use the biggest meshes ever , don’t want to go too deep into it but make a research or Google it why they don’t use GPU for processing . As that is a damn good reason .

Stupid question from my side.

Perhaps I’m reading it wrong, but… Isn’t there a typo in the scanning modes?

In the pic, looks like “automated turntable scan” is the 4th mode, but later, in the text, an additional “single line” mode is mentioned.

So, I suspect “single line” mode should be
instead of “automated turntable scan”.

Andy , you can’t use scanner with that capacity on an apple mobile app … 7 millions points per second.
That would be a miracle …
And honestly I don’t mind to use my PC tablet or laptop , professionals pay $16K for a scanners and still use at least a laptop .

The era of toys is over

Yes looks like a typo , it should be a single line …
The structured light go together with the automatic turntable

Yeah, I get that. I was talking about things like a Surface Pro. My secondary scanning rig is a Dell tablet that’s essentially a Surface Pro 8 in spec but with more RAM.
I never use the mobile apps with any of my Revopoint products. Too limited.
