In the latest video metroX looks fairly secure even at the steep angle.
But @PUTV can maybe tell if metroX can still be secured additionally to the cradle itself.
It is very secure and will not fall off .
But will it still have the thread?
It do have a thread as I use it with my Desk Arm and ball head .
Could you share which arm and ball head you have?
Might be interested to setup something similar to this for easier positionning of the scanning on my desk.
Hi yes I will share with you later when I am back home .
This is simple Desk Stand/Arm but works very well since it can candle even MIRACO .
Great for Turntable Scannings especially for Auto Turntable with MetroX
It moving forward and backwards , rotate 360 degrees.
So even good in smaller spaces .
You can adjust the tension . It is not shaky so great for auto turntable.
I have many of them but this one so far is my favorite as it is most flexible .
It have simple ball head , but any ball head works with it .
When you scanning using Laser mode this is a must have for me as you have to capture so many frames and it is just easier this way .
I got the option without light , but the light here will give you good support when scanning color data for the top .
You can attach direct MetroX cradle to it as well the thread is 1/4 standard
Thanks for the infos!
I’ve just ordered one of those - not that exact one, but similar - for auto-turntable modes.
Also great to use with MIRACO and turntable with a single shot mode at 8K
Hopefully yours can also move forward and back .
It is great with MetroX auto Turntable mode
Yes, it looks identical to that one. Same specs too.
I purchased so many desk arms fancy and others but this simple one outperform them all .
What are the chances we’ll see a wifi/battery add-on (to go wireless) in the future?
I would never say never , probably in the future , everything is possible.
I suggest you post this request , under Suggestion thread in our forum .
Hi all. Kickstarter is almost finished but I can’t see any remark about gyroscope (9 axis IMU). Looks like the scanner is not equipped with it and I wonder why. The other scanners have it. Regards.
It simple don’t need that .
The priority of laser scanning are markers , there is not issue like ghosting or lose tracking anymore or overlapped frames , the CPU and GPU is powerful enough to take care of it in real time . Different technology different needs .
I get the point with the lasers. Not for that.
Motion sensors are needed for structured light scanning.
It uses computer system for scanning and have nothing to do with other scanners .
If that was nesesery it would be there . Use the recommended operation system and you don’t have to worry about .
I have behind me over 200 hours of scanning with MetroX and it works better than any previous scanner .
I have a question about the minimum requirements, would the metroX run on an HP laptop with a ryzen 5 and 32g or ram? I believe it is only 6 cores and 12 threads. would it not run at all or just not efficiently?
It will run but you might not be able to achieve the full scanning frame rate in the laser modes. In full-field or auto-turntable mode it will run just fine.
