They asked…. You delivered!!

Nice to see wires have been removed.

Hoping to have a better look at the specs when I get home.

Bad news for MetroX owners - MetroY’s starting price is almost the same as MertoX’s on Aliexpress (I bought mine for about $1100)…

It’s unfortunate timing yes, but hardly bad news, if you bought the MetroX because it matched the specifications you wanted it still does.

As with any tech there is a day you’ll buy it when new tech comes out the next day.

MetroY don’t have Full Field or Auto turntable mode it have only 3 laser modes, your MetroX is still better for the value , why  about downgraded version ?

MetroY Pro is what is beyond MetroX features.

People wanted wireless and speed but bought the MetroX because it was the first lowish cost scanner of this type. I’m very aware new tech comes along but this is the next bus by the same manufacturer. I know many X owners will feel frustrated with Revopoint.

I am only interested in the laser modes in MetroX, and for structured light (SLS) I have a high-precision stationary scanner, and for some other specific applications I have the Miraco Plus.

You say it deceased the value of MetroX , it don’t , MetroY have only 3 laser modes and nothing else . MetroX is still better for the value of the money.

That is what I refer to in my reply .

website says the pro includes dual axis turntable in metroy and has full field scanning too. I think my metrox just went up for sale and I’m getting a Y

In the MetroY specifications it says only 3 laser modes , no Full Field or turntable ( only Pro version )

MetroX still better for the value vs MetroY

If you go for MetroY Pro then yes definitely huge upgrade here .. double faster scanning per second too thanks to more laser lines , plus wireless!

Unfortunately scan area and fov again very small which can (again) result in Marker detection and Marker alignment topics.

It is for scanning no bigger section/ objects than 1 m , at 40 cm max distance it is for small to medium objects.

You can’t have high accuracy with bigger FOV , it will decrease dramatically.

Go for Trackit, problem solved with scanning any objects.

They’ve killed off the MetroX. Do you agree with that? MetroX will be an end of life product in 1 year. Should we consider scanners like we do mobile phones? Maybe it’s me who has the wrong perception here.

I’m comparing the MetroX to the Y pro. For the cost difference I don’t expect many will not go for the Y pro over the base model

You can’t compare both of them because Pro have all new hardware and lasers plus wireless, not the same at all.

I don’t see anybody going for MetroY if you own MetroX either .

I would go for MetroY Pro as it is double better than MetroX and wireless.

For that reason there is nothing for MetroX user to want MetroY

I understand your point of view , but MetroX is already almost 2 years old from the point of design , nothing happening over night .

MetroY did not killed MetroX , different kind of animal to begin with and I would not exchange my MetroX for that. It is more valuable to me .

Considering how fast competition products are released , I can understand Revopoint want to be better. If not the early delay in MetroX production there would be MetroX Pro at the same time , but the time did not allow for that and maybe better because now it is 2 times better and cost fraction of the money compared to competitors.

Sell your MetroX and go for MetroY Pro , then you win on that .

Will each new device have its own software, or will there ever be a single software for all devices?
