Thank you Ivan , I tested it with turntable , I tested it with lazy Susan , it definitely love the slower rotation , to be honest I did not lost tracking for once even when scanning a 32 inches book shelves with various objects. The edges was very sharp , I am in love with this one as it allows me to scan full bodies in no time. POP2 Body mode can’t be compared like 40% the quality compared to Range full body scan. Really great .
You can sit on a office chair or stool , click the start button and scan yourself rotating around without issues , the Depth Camera preview POV will cover your head and half chest at once . Simple !
I think many of our users will profit from this one , especially automobile users and users scanning people/ big art etc…

Good to hear, since when scanning people, good tracking is very valuable (if you have to re-acquire tracking over and over, the subject might end up moving… Or get bored and walk away!).

That is so true , I always start scanning with face to prevent changing in expression … not with Range as it is quick , you can scan full body in less than 120 sec .

After I sent this message I saw it in my email that Revopoint sent stating that in 7 days it will start. But now it’s nice to see the hour of the day, thanks allot.
Was already subscribed by that time you asked.

It seems now that it would be at 3 pm for me, totally doable in Romania, in the EU.
I will now train my F5 taping skills.

That’s actually 03:00 pm your local time, if I am not wrong🤔 so F5 should be doable🙂

New York is currently at UTC-5 in Eastern Time, so the time difference between New York and Romania is 7 hours
It is going to be at 3pm , Romania has only single timezones , for most countries in Europe it will be at 2 pm like Germany , France , Poland etc
UK time will be 1pm .
USA & Canada East Coast at 8 am
USA Midwest at 7am
USA & Canada West Coast at 5am

Tis a weird looking contraption.
Will be nice when some of the ex DJI designers get involved in developing something that looks and works as if it is fit for purpose.

I have a good solution for you here, just don’t buy it .
Because if you already starting complaining about something you don’t even own , then I only imagine what will be after .
Just don’t forget that a trash for you can be gold for someone else .
For example I worked for so long with a 3D scans done using $100K scanner that provide truly heavy editing work for me to clean all the data to get what Range provided out of the box …

Simple is beautiful…

Hi! The Range looks awesome, and the scans that you shared here are amazing! Do you think that it will be possible to use several scanners together so you can scan a bigger object faster? And it will be possible to have an sdk in order to integrate them in our own software? This will be great too! We are looking for a scanner like this, so tomorrow we will be keeping an eye to the kickstarter page…

Thank you , the new prototype of Range deliver much more finer details than the one I showed in this showcase was was the first prototype . This mean the smaller parts will get better results
Today you can see the new showcases in the forum with new prototype examples .

I am preparing my new showcase thread today and will update my showcase models day long showing new examples .

Right now it is impossible to use multiple scanners at once , you must know that Range can produce a huge fused point clouds that can ends in around 4.5GB with 2 ft objects , the process is slightly slow even at i10 CPU as lots of data need to be processed and stores on the HDD after fusing it or meshing .
Models from this size of point cloud usually reach around 14 milion of polygons.

The sdk can’t be provided at this moment but will be on the right time , when ? Nobody knows exactly time time , so sorry but you can’t integrate the multiple scanners at this time anywhere else.

But on the other side it is amazing new device , just remember it is not replacement for early Revopoint devices but rather extension for POP2 , object scanning starts at 30 cm distance from the object so the accuracy is 0.1 mm , however the accuracy is better than POP2 at 30cm .
Remember 3D structured light scanners provide the best accuracy when they are most closely to the object while scanning so MINI at 10-20cm, POP2 at 15-25 cm and Range at 30-120cm

Keep an eye tomorrow on the super early bird packages , the deal will be fantastic , first come first serve
