[Windows & Mac] Revo Scan V5.3.4

Hi everyone. Revo Scan 5.3.4 for Windows and macOS are now available on the official website.

Download it at: revoscan5

Updates:

  1. Fixes some bugs.
  2. Changes the depth cameras’ auto exposure default setting to off instead of on.

Setting the Auto Exposure settings to Off was not a good move . You need all camera and sensor settings to begin with Auto so the sensors can adjust itself the proper way before scanning and then set
The Auto to Off manually and start Scanning.

It was all perfect before … no sure what smart brain requested this changes that just makes no sense . Because you need to set it to Auto each time you open Revo Scan 5 now …
Not setting it to Auto is the first mistake a new user is doing , having trouble to see the scan in live preview and wondering why it is not working .

I agree, it should be on auto by default. I actually found that quite good, it’s a pity that it was changed again. Can you please reverse that?

Even better would be a preference setting for this behavior (and lots of others).

Hi @SphaeroX

I’ll get back to the product department with your ideas.

Like @TheBoatScans said: the best is to give us the possibility to cutomize and save our own default settings .

How about leave it at manual, but when it first starts up, it does an auto level set and then stays on manual?

Or it uses the last used manual level setting to start with?

That seems to match the workflow better.

If you have one color object yes, but with multiple colors objects you want to keep it on Auto while scanning , for example face dark hair …

When using batch processing, fusion seems to always use Advanced even if you have Standard selected.

Maybe because Standard mode don’t clean overlapped points or lose points in the process . It is more of a Raw fusing processing option that leave more than 90% of trash data compared to Advanced mode that removes most of the unused or needed points resulting in more organized and accurate pointcloud with much more finer details and less noises .

For that reason Advanced mode is the most accurate algorithms for fusing.
