Your PC specs are below the minimum PC requirements, which are clearly stated on revopoint page and also all the amazon-offers I came across!
I don’t know if your i9 meets the minimum requirements (depending on Gen), but you 16 GB RAM definitely don’t 
. RAM of 32GB or higher is crucial because of hight amount of data that needs to be processed during scnning and post processing. 64gb or more is even better or needed, depending of how big your objects are and level of detail you want to scan them.
So I think it is unfair to blame the Metro X, which since the software version 5.6.6 I can even use with good performance even on my old laptop with i7-9750H and GeForce 2060 - but with 32GB. And scannig results are great.
So before you return you MetroX, you might at least consider trying it on a PC/Laptop that meet these mimimum requirements. You might get pleasantly surprised by its output
