Not bad for a newbie , well done !
Nice Job
Great scan! Thank you for sharing.
Hi @MaxEkb77
I must say I can see now why you where commenting in the accuracy , the scanned model do not look optimal , it will read the wrong number , too many bumps and missed edges .
You do treat reverse engineering job , despite the scan result , but I tell you it is not the optimal result you should get , it need to be better .
There are many factors but if you want to discuss it , we may start new thread
Many factor - it’s true, dimension accuracy is fine.
small gear 22mm diameter,
Too much noise on surface all scan.
Best reuslt today D3.5mm cross-laser mode
I’ve done a lot of scans, and everywhere there’s the same issue in different modes—the surface quality is very poor. Could this be a defective depth camera?
Hi!
Red color in the preview window means the surface area is overexposed, blue underexposed.
You are overexposing which introduces artificial artefacts. Use “auto” button or adjust the setting manually (probably the lowest setting needed).
Also back couple of cm so the object is more in " excellent" range than “too near”.
How did you fuse and mesh? The highest setting aren’t always the best. The less details on the surface, the lower settings for fusing and meshing/grid size (should be the same !) you should use for smoother appearance afterwards . Otherwise you only induce more noise and artefacts on the surface in the postprocess (fusing, meshing)
Some surface might have perfect properties regarding reflectivity of projected laser pattern, but not all. This then causes more of less of microscattering of the laser which you see as noise afterwards.
Therefore depending on surface you need to optimize it by using some scan spray - there are different options, also DIY. Please search the forum , it was discussed maaaany times.
Let me know if this helped with your scan results.
I contact with Revo support today, i’ts abnormal problem in all modes.
Now search a solution.
According to your screenshot , the depth camera is overexposed in Full Field and Auto Mode.
Avoid any red areas if possible when setting up the exposure , little blue is better than red, but best is overall gray.
Your settings are set on 2 what is very high for scanning white surfaces at short distance .
Set it on auto for best results when using Full Field or Auto mode .
The email Support is closed until April 28 so expect a reply later.
P.S if setting it at 0 or Auto still delivering the same results , please recalibrate your scanner , if not helping you need technical support and check by then your hardware, because that are not the results you should get in Full Field or Auto mode .
If i set 9-10 red is out. 1-8 always red.
automatic mode does nothing.
I recalibrate him, result same
When i buy i’m not use this mode, i use only laser mode - today i try scan sclupt in another mode. I found a surface quality bad. i mean this problem a hardware.
Photo after recalibration
It need to be set at 1 maximum when scanning white surfaces.. it is a exposure , setting it at 9-10 with white object will make it disappears from the sensor .
Hopefully the room lighting don’t interrupt your scanning as it can happen if too much light passing through the window ( just for your info )
It can alter the exposure settings. You can try in complete dark to make sure that there is no red visible at settings 1.
Yes your preview showing like it is hardware issue here , and you need technical support to fix it as it is beyond my capacity here.
Please make sure you include your posts link with your email to customer@revopoint3d.com
I observed your results for a while and I find it not smooth enough to beging with , so it maybe be indeed hardware issue , or the calibration don’t update the proper way the scanner system.
I know about light source “no direct light on this scan”, with support & R&D team we try many variant - result same.
I try deal special for you full darkness scan today.
Yes i see problem on preview screen.
I today 2-3 hours meeteng with support & RD Team. All information sended.
Support say me about new version software 5.6.5 - may be fix that. something tells me that this is not so
