Do we have to calibrate every day we scan if we are scanning in the same location?
Hi @William1 , no you calibrate once in couple of months or if requested after firmware updates .
Absolutely do not calibrate the scanner if you did not updated the firmware or have tracker issues .
@PUTV is recalibrating required when set up in new locations? I do a lot of on-site scanning for customers.
I believe that it is a very infrequent requirement; over time sensors may “drift” slightly from original factory spec from use and age. Firmware updates may fundementally change some internal algorithms requiring a recallibration (or overwriting stored internal callibration).
I would assume a change in location would only require a recallibration if the environment is drastically different. i.e if you scan in a sauna one day, and a walk in freezer the next, the temperature disparity would be large enough to require re-callibration (probably not recommended to scan in saunas and freezers tho!)
No you don’t need to re calibrate at all , unless there are any issues while scanning .
My Trackit traveled around the globe without the need for calibration for months .
Only if the firmware request full re calibration . You can calibrate manually just the scanner from time to time . But locations are not a reason for that .
There are specific temperatures that the scanner work correctly , when bringing inside from other extreme temperatures outside , the scanner needed to be acclimated , same with other optical devices or cameras .
Calibration in this case is not required .
