Trackit 3D outside testing

Hi guys,

Question about using the trackit 3D outside.

I looked for scanning cases that were outside, however i did not find any.

How is the scanner reacting to light exposure? When the surface is for example reflecting white and the sun is shining on the surface. Is it a problem for the scanner?

I would really love some examples that show me the capabilities of the scanner being used outside on different objects.

Best regards,

Pim

Hi @Pim

The scanner can’t be used in sun light
The Depth camera sensors will get blind from the brightness of the sun light.
So the best option od to use indoor or in shade

Presumably an exposure adjustment could compensate, at least in part, for this? I live in a country where the sun is pretty much always shining!

It is not made for using outdoors and definitely not in sunlight .
Sensor settings do not increase the laser but overall exposure of everything , the settings for laser brightness are very high , but still not for use in Sun light , that is like using flash light outside and expecting to make things brighter than the sun , will not work .

Good shade will works well outdoors but not in direct sunlight.
