The right Scanner for outdoor?

Hi there,
do you have some news about the right scanner for outdoor and large objects and people (2m)?
I read that the scanner has some problem with infrared from the sun.
Is this solfed with blue light array or something else?
Thank you for your information.
BR, Mike

Hi Mike

Infrared scanners and blue light scanners can’t be used in day light because it is Structured Light Scanner

The sun can interrupt the capture .
Unless you scan outdoors on s very cloudy day or after sunset .

Then Miraco series scanner will be what you want to scan people with or Range 2.

But again not in direct sunlight because sun produce infrared light that interrupts the capture.

so you need LiDar time of flight, multicapture to scan outdoor in sunlight ? Any reccomendations for such as scanning farm with trees?

Hi @kevinrez

Yes, Revopoint scans currently are not made for this type of scanning.
Use photogrammetry or Lidar scanner.

I don’t know of any scanner that’ll do well in bright sunlight. The Artec Leo maybe, but you’ll keel over dead when you see the price. I do have a buddy that wants to sell his Leo if you are in that ballpark.

Hi Robin ,

You could rent one as well …

Good point. Trimech is in NC and they have one they rent out.
