Hi!

If possible please write in english as then more people will be able to understand and reply. You can use free deepl-translator for example for the translation.

Thanks and best regards

For all the others, here is what @Snakegreen wrote in russian (according to deepl translation):

If, having several scans, you build at least one of them a mesh, then when merging, even at the level of point clouds, the created common cloud will have only one scan in it. It doesn’t depend on what display mode is selected, and re-optimization of the cloud has no effect, the mesh is already created and it doesn’t allow merging.

The function of trimming the edges of scans is very lacking. Often there is a very strong noise on the edges of scans, which is not removed neither through isolation nor through overlap detection. And it is not always on table level parts of the model, you have to search for it and cut it out manually, very inconvenient.

Isolation and Overlap functions. Sometimes they highlight unnecessary, but unfortunately there is no possibility after detection to remove the selection manually from individual places. As soon as I select any selection mode, it immediately deselects everything that Isolation and Overlap have detected.

Is it possible to add keyframe editing to laser mode as well?

@Snakegreen

Please use English language in this forum .

Isolation and Overlapping function is not a tool, it is separate function algorithms and will not works together with editing tools

At this moment it is not possible

The function cut the edge based on the scan and level of points , it do not edit the edge of round it up , so if your edge have very low level of points it will not be cut smooth.

The edges do have strong curling effects if not full edge is captured, it is the algorithms doing it while capture so I agree on it with you.

You only can merge point clouds .
Meshes can’t be merged.

You need generate a new mesh after you edited point cloud to reflect the changes .

Point cloud and Mesh are a separate editor files , editing one of them will not affect the other unless you re run the processing again.

So if you edited the point cloud you need to run meshing again …

I apologize, I will write in English in the future.

In that case, I found the problem. I will describe the algorithm of actions.
I made three scans
I built a mesh for one scan (I agree, my mistake)
Switched to point display mode in all three scans.
Switched to a combination. Combined it. I clicked on the “Create model” button
The program created a new tree element in the form of a point cloud (that’s right), but inside it was only the scan that I was building the mesh for. The other two were not added to the creation.

It creates only one point cloud after merging, it do not align multiple scans into merged object

You can do that using Cloud Compare , it is free software, it allows you to align your 3 scans and preserve them all 3

This is not a merge but alignment only
Revo Scan don’t have alignment only function , only full registration .

I think that’s what you are looking for ?

Just export only the point clouds , import to Cloud Compare and create your 3D alignment presenting it all as separate files.

I think you will agree that the need to use a third-party application in the middle of processing (scan - match - mesh construction) this is a very good option. I hope in the future your program will be able to work completely independently.

It’s not that it needs , I just give you an extra tool tip so you can make what you want from it.

Right now there are not function available in the software that you wish , so hopefully in the future it will change .

Remember Revo Scan is not a 3D editor software but a scanning software , it’s priority is to capture single scans and produce point clouds.
What you do with it after is just a free bonus.
I am sure the dev.team will add new functions and features in the future for a different workflows that are needed.

Please don’t hate the messenger …
I don’t have control over when things going to happen.

I also hope that the product will evolve and improve in the future!

It never stopped evolving :slightly_smiling_face:
