I’m planing to buy my next laptop. This time, as an owner of MetroX, I consider all parameters - including those that are important for scanning and processing scans. I’m not in a rush. My current hardware is still keeping up.
My target is MacBook Pro 14’’ with M5 family chip. I mean M5 Pro or M5 Max.
After reading I learned that CPU is the most important thing, 2nd is RAM, 3rd is GPU. Taking this into account M5 Pro would be the best choice. But …
after reading topic: “Suggestion : Revoscan 5 Mac optimisation”
it looks like Apple Silicone GPU’s might be supported and Max series of Apple chips will make more sense.
I know that M5 Pro and M5 Max aren’t in the market yet. But I have time to wait couple of months for them to arrive. And on top of that Revo team may issue new software natively supporting apple silicon chips. So I have a question to Revo team:
Should I buy M5 Max (better GPU) in anticipation for natively support soft from Revopoint for that GPU or M5 Pro will be more than enough and M5 Max will be overkill?
Hopefully new Revoscan software (with Apple silicone native support) will be issued before M5 Pro and M5 Max.
