I got my hands on the metroY pro three days ago, but unfortunately, my MacBook m1 16gb ram freezes a lot when I try to scan the statue.
I did some market research on laptops. My dilemma is between Mac OS or Windows. Mac is a reliable machine and I’ve never had any problems with it, unlike Windows in the past.
To cut a long story short, I am torn between a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, Ultra 9.32GB RAM, 5070 to , or a MacBook Pro M4 Pro/M5 36/48GB RAM. The prices vary considerably between them. It’s a costly investment, so I need your opinion.
If anyone can give me information based on their experience with the performance of the MacBook, I would appreciate it.
Inte CPUl is most faster at this moment regardless if you have proper GPU or not , MAC don’t use GPU acceleration so I would definitely go for Windows system in combination with Rebopoint scanners.
Also with the RAM , 32 GB is on the edge , personally would not go with less than 64 GB , but it depends what you going to scan and what size of objects you are going to scan.
All software is written on Intel/Windows. I searched and read quite a bit from Mac users, and they didn’t encounter any problems during the scanning process. That’s why I decided to ask to be sure.
I know that 64GB is ideal. The chaos that prevails in prices at this time is really disappointing. In the future, there is the possibility of upgrading to 96.
Thank you for your help and opinion. I appreciate it.
