I would like to add, that if you scanning an object that rotate on a turntable it is very important to not capture anything else that is stationery , because if you do , it can mess up the tracking of the scanning session.
For that reason having clean environment around scanned objects that rotate is a key for perfect results.
For the table top preferable black rubber mat or plastic black mat none reflective . There are great craft matte rubber black mat available in stores.
If you scanning using blue light type scanners like Mini series or MetroX, please make sure to lighting you use are not in warm yellow tones. Preferable cool toned LED lighting .
Blue lighting scanners require dinner lighting environment compared to infrared scanners.
Calibrate the White Balance first using gray white balance photography card and set it on manual after, then adjust the proper exposure then set to manual as well before scanning to ensure you produce good textures .
