I think this question has been asked numerous times and its usually a bad cable from what I’ve seen on forums? I’m using the one that came in the mobile kit. Revoscan works via Wifi, but the performance is not great. Im using an Inspire, Samsung Ultra 25 with Android version 15/One UI 7.0 and Revoscan v5.4.0, and making sure the mobile battery is fully charged. I’ve tried restarting the app, the phone, plugging, unplugging, etc. Not sure what to look for if I need to try a different cable (USB-C data/power to USB-C data and USB-A power?)
Hi @BluesunsXIV
There should be not difference in performance via WiFi or USB C cable .
The USB A goes to the Power Bank and the USB C to the phone
You can’t use different cable , you need split cable that work with the scanner so if you need replacement you need to contact customer@revopoint3d.com
Other cables will not work if you want connect the scanner to the phone as the scanner need to be powering externally and can’t drain the phone on the same time .
The only thing here is left if the phone system you use support OTG for data and don’t just set for charging
. But please contact customer@revopoint3d.com
They will find out what is going on exactly .
Hi thank you for your help. Cable seems to be fine because it works with my two other tablets. There is something with my phone thats not allowing the connection after asking for my permission. It randomly worked twice but I cannot figure out what I did to make it work. I have OTG on. I have USB debugging on. I cleared the USB cache and storage. I made sure that the phone is set to transfer files / android auto. I have no idea whats wrong that my tablets work and not my phone. Wifi is fine but my phone keeps disconnecting to connect back to my home network so thats not really a reliable solution.
You need to change settings to stop your WiFi being disconnected , it happens because Android do it if the WiFi don’t have Internet , and Internet is not available when using the scanner via WiFi.
Connect to scanner and wait under WiFi settings couple seconds until message show up to keep connection without Internet then you select YES, this way it will never disconnect again .
Happen to me before with older phone , it just disconnecting once I gave the permission via USB personally I never found out why , and just gives up until I bought new phone .
For that reason you may contact customer@revopoint3d.com and include the link to this thread for references. They may know what to do in your case and your specific phone .
For your phone I found only this :
1.Access developer options to check for any relevant settings or to try toggling USB debugging.
-
Ensure the file manager app has the necessary access permissions
-
For file transfers, consider using Samsung’s Smart Switch tool as it can handle transfers more reliably than raw MTP.
That’s all I found in the menu for your phone that may help .
