Revopoint MetroY & MetroY Pro - Wireless Blue Laser 3D Scanners

There are 2 software only , the scanners with lasers use own unique software.

I can’t tell you when in the future there will be just one software but I suspect finally it will be.

This is totally true. But especially for laser scanner which require marker the fov is essential for good and reliable tracking resulting in good user experience. Nothing is more frustrated than tracking lost or message “to less markers” and people does not want to put markers every 3cm. Sometimes it’s even not possible. Especially when scanning long and depth parts larger fov is extremely useful. Just looking on the laser scanner market they all have higher fov … for good reason. Regarding MetroX this was the main reason to sell it.

Yes but the laser scanners cost fortune , the components are very expensive , normally what MetroX uses is around $1000 for the laser component only .

That is not a problem for Revopoint to use this types of lasers with high FOV but who going to afford it ?

Why “up to five”? Does it have five scanning modes or not? Maybe it has only four on Tuedays and Thursdays?

Sorry. Dramatic videos turn me off. I’m too busy to watch your drama. Send me information.

All information is posted on their website.

Up to 5 modes. Since they Y standard does not have full field mode.

The Y Pro does. So its 5 modes are

Cross laser

Parallel laser line

Single laser line

Full field blue structured light and

Auto turntable mode.

Hopefully they’re either putting this updated tech into the TrackIt, or it came from the TrackIt.

It has only 5 modes ( Pro version ) no.more no less

You can find all information and specification under the product page in the Online store

Available now at our US and Global stores.

Please behave , not need for extra drama , reading is essential!

Just from reading the specs, Trackit looks somewhere between X and Y.

Trackit scan 1500.000 points per sec, X only 800K , what is almost double faster

Trackit can scan huge objects marker-less and real time merge function , X & Y only small to medium and only with markers.

Technically Trackit is MetroY but with so many extra features and marker-less scanning what is a selling point here.

It all depends on what you need.

Personally I think MetroX still have greater value for the money than MetroY. But again it depends of what you need.

But putting Trackit between X & Y don’t really works , since both of them can’t do what Trackit can, markerless scanning of huge volumes, that why you pay the price for.

You can compare X with Y Pro, the difference? Double faster capturing , WiFi scanning , WiFi streaming , Color scanning in all modes. Plus Singles line mode.

Sorry, was just comparing the actual laser scanning head. Obviously Trackit as a system is something else.

Well, my first thought was, wow…now i own an old metro scanner…that is what all others, which are not deeply into these scanners think too…

if i had known the short product life cycles, i would have waited with the purchase…

What i still do not find is a basic and easy way to get the scans into xyz coordinates…i do not want to purchase an extremly expensive software just for this reason…but exactly this makes the workflow very complicated for me….

What software are you loading the scan into?

Pretty much any software you load it into can do a basic XYZ.

Why i never felt it was needed in scanning software

revoscan is in use…which software do you use for accompanying the planes and get the scan orientated?

What software are you use to import the scan into.

Just set XYZ in that software. Like if us8ng fusion you can follow my video below.

The free Microsoft 3DBuilder has a function of “physically throwing” a model onto the Settle plane, as a result it aligns itself with the plane it was thrown onto…
P.S. But, of course, it is strange that the native program does not have such a primitive feature as rotating the model in coordinate space.

I do agree , but the problem in the software is the color data and the objects can’t be moved unless they are ready for export and final , why ? Each object moved will need to update all the project folder files to reflect the new origin of the scan. Other way the color data will be lost . Both for point cloud and meshed ( before textured )

That’s the reason why it take so long.

Same thing when you do that to an model when doing photogrammetry, you going to lose all the color data if you move it before texturing. The images are linked exactly to the model origins and position of the points ( vertex )

No problem , the laser head of Trackit cross line mode is the same as MetroY 1.500.000 points per frame.

The MetroX laser head capture just 800.000 points per frame in cross line mode what is double times slower than Trackit or MetroY .

MetroY Pro Cross line mode capture 1.700.000 points per frame what at this moment make it the fastest .
