Right, thank you. Sorry for sounding angry, I just have gotten pissed by reviews at Amazon, for example, too often that go like “This item is crap, I found a far better one” without mentioning what exactly the better item might be. Sorry for transfering this anger of mine to your very helpful suggestion (even without the link). Something like that is actually an addition I thought might be very meaningful, and I was even thinking about construction something similar on my own.

it sounds better that way 
i understand your frustration! To be honest, the only negative thing about the device is that it can only be used very slowly in curves. this is too slow for video recordings! but this option with the rail is perfect for the scanner! I now only need a large turntable or a construction that moves the tripod with scanner around a person.
