To allow camera access for a specific program on Windows 11, follow these steps:
Enable Camera Access for a Specific App
Open Settings
Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
Go to Privacy & Security
In the left sidebar, click Privacy & security.
Scroll to App Permissions → Camera
Under the “App permissions” section, click Camera.
Enable Camera Access
Make sure Camera access is On.
Also ensure Let apps access your camera is On.
Allow Specific App
Scroll down to the list of apps.
Find the app you want to allow (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
Toggle the switch On next to that app.
For Desktop Apps
If the app is a traditional desktop program (not from the Microsoft Store), scroll further to Let desktop apps access your camera and ensure it’s On. You’ll see a list of apps that have recently accessed the camera.
Troubleshooting Tips
If the app still can’t access the camera, check its internal settings (e.g., Zoom or Teams has its own camera settings).
Ensure no other app is currently using the camera.
Update your camera drivers via Device Manager if needed.
