Pre Purchase questions

Hello, I have been following Revopoint products closely for a while.
I have also read many topics in the forum. Thank you for the information you shared.
I have some questions before purchasing in order to choose the right device.

I am undecided between Miraco Pro, Miraco Plus and MetroX.

I have been working as a CGI artist for over 20 years. I am an Autodesk Maya user. I am interested in Solidworks and Quicksurface. My goal is to collect point cloud data with Scanner. I plan to do the mesh creation process on a high end PC.

It is important for me that accuracy and texture data.
I will mostly scan objects such as car bodies, engine parts and game assets to produce them. Sometimes I will just scan the place where the part I will produce will be placed.

Apart from the zoom and metrology kit, is there a technical difference between Miraco Pro and Miraco Plus?
Can I use the metrology kit with Miraco Pro?

Can i use MetroX in outdoor?
Can I use MetroX with a high end smartphone or tablet to collect point cloud data?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

No you can’t use MetroX outside, it need power outlet and very powerful computer to run so not phones or tablets.

MetroX would be great for your needs , just check the MetroX showcases in the forum.

I have both MetroX, Miraco Plus and Pro
Metrology kit can be only used with Plus.

I was expecting you to recommend Miraco . What can you say that MetroX can do that Miraco can’t?

I can’t make that decision for you @dbrethil

MetroX are 4 scanners in one and is my favorite scanner to date .
Can scan mostly all materials without 3D spray

Miraco have 2 scanners in one and only infrared and require 3D spray on surfaces like metal, metalic , rubber and other absorbing light materials .
Great for scanning humans, on the way, compact and fit capture color data on the way

Personally I would choice MetroX if I had only one option.

That’s why I have 2 :joy: and use the proper one for specific job .

I agree with PUTV. If I could have only one scanner I would choose MetroX. I can make it work for me on pretty much any object I throw at it.
However, I love my Miraco Plus and it tends to be the scanner I reach for in the first instance due to requiring no setup. The same can be said for the Miraco Pro too though.
I don’t think you’d benefit from the metrology kit of the plus based on what you said your use case is.
