Miraco Plus beckons and beckons 🙂

I’m looking at it and I want to buy a Miraco Plus in the MetroX kit more and more. I really hope that soon I will be able to sell competitor's scanner and save up for this interesting scanner, I want to test Zoom and single shot.

I only own Miraco Pro, but single shot is awesome! I really like the flexibility and the huge amount of functionality that it delivers.
A really great Product. So much use cases are covered with it.

Does anyone know the main difference between the Miraco Pro and the Plus. I was kind of disappointed to see them add what seemed like was just a software update (the scanning plus photos/photogrammetry) and hardware lock it out to just the Plus just months after the Pro was released. This seems like it could be implemented on the Miraco Pro with a software/firmware update no? Is there specific hardware on the Plus?

The Mirraco Pre differs from just the Miraco in that it has more memory. The Miraco Plus has an optical zoom

Hi
While Miraco and Miraco Pro only differ by memory size , PLUS version has other hardware (next to optical zoom) which makes it capable of photogrammetry at large scale and even faster scanning (20 vs 15fps). That’s why its ability cannot be translate to Miraco/Miraco Pro by some software update.

It was discussed here

You can compare the scanners here

MIRACO Plus don’t give you better results that MetroX in Auto Mode.

You can also use Single shot with MetroX in Full Field

Auto Mode uses single shot but the capture process is different from any other single shots available due to a different pattern.

The only difference you get are higher resolution textures using single shot and metrogrammetry when using metrogrammetry kit .

The Zoom option don’t create better results than Auto Model with MetroX

That’s not the kind of photogrammetry, that everyone associate the name with, it is metrogrammetry since it capture pictures of markers not the actual object to create metrogrammetry global markers.

I want a Miraco as a replacement for Reality Ferret, for offline scanning.

Yep, I know that and I was not precise enough. Revopoint themselves refer to it as photogrammetry. :slightly_smiling_face:

Photogrammetric Metrology

And I suggested the name.
Photogrammetry is a different animal, it don’t support metrology.
