I bought the pop2 for scanning jewelry befor the mini went out
had nixed results and when mini was available I bought this one and results were improving with the development of the software.
Now I want to do body scans
The pop2 should be ok for that or is there any better quality with the range?
Thanks for the answer in advance…
It is much better as Range accuracy is much better at 30cm+ distance than POP2 in Body Mode , plus you getting bigger FOV meaning less issues with tracking bigger flatter objects .
You remember when POP2 had issues scanning back of the head , Range don’t have that issue anymore , I mean it is not the scanner problem but the featureless back of a head .
Anyway Range is my favorite Full Body scanner for now …and beyond for all big objects .
Definitely you should go for that .
P.S did I mentioned that Range works fantastic on my old Android phone with the newly released RS5 for Android ? I was speechless the first time attempting scanning a full sofa with just Range and my Android phone ( 6GB RAM)
Also the newest RS5 on Android phones do save all your project data to your phone , so you can import it straight to your computer via WiFi and fuse, mesh and edit your scans without wasting time scanning and fusing on the way .
RS5 for other devices will be released very soon …
Thanks for the fast reply
I wasn´t clear enough, my main focus is still on small objects, only will do sometimes a bodyscan.
Pop2 should do that maybe not good as range but useable?
Of course you can still scan full body scans with POP2 , it will take maybe an extra effort and more frames but YES, you can since I was doing it for the last 12 months .
Ah, thanks, that what I thought.
need to search for a stable relyable rotating platform.
Do you mention some I can get in Germany?
I am in North America , but if you looking for an electric turntable look for no less than something like that : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B097BT6SM6/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A2ACZ0WX3DYTHR&psc=1
11 inches diameter will be perfect , since I do own one of these… Revopoint will sell soon also their own electric turntables in their stores .
Had the chance to play with it for about 15 min with it with my pop2.
When starting a new scan, you’ll get this screen to select your settings:
Once selected, this is the main screen. I found it a huge improvement comparing with the old one, very polished interface and plenty of info available.
The scanning went really smooth, no interruptions and pretty solid.
When finished, I’m asked how to proceed. This is perhaps the only part that I found a bit confusing, I could not find an option to say explecitely “I don’t want to continue with this scan, I want to continue later on my PC”
The post-processing will start after tapping on the red button.
And scan finished!
On the start screen now I can see my new project
It shows me the option to send it to a RevoScan on a PC by using a QR code (I assume I need also v5.0 there) and also I can share the scan to gdrive, for instance
Conclusion:
Surprised to see the app so mature for an initial massive update. The only point I found slightly un-intuitive was the flow just when finishing the scan. Apart from that, it looks excelent. If I had to give a rating… 9.5/10
That was exactly my point as well , why go to processing if you can import your project to PC … and don’t want to process or scanning anything else for example . The button "Continue Scanning " should bring you back to a new scanning session , not continue scanning the same object . The button options are rather confusing .
Je suis intéressé aussi merci d’avance !
Great advise… I doubt if RP would like this
Revopoint love all suggestions and feedbacks , as long it is constructive feedback and make sense for the end users , after all we all going to use it on a daily basis. I never need to sugar things up , Revopoint respects me for my opinions as they do with everybody else.
à votre service !
Bonjour,
Vous parlez du logiciel pour le PC ou Android ?
Merci d’avance.
Android ! RS5 pour PC, sortira bientôt.
Hey I see the 5.0 software is available for android but is there a PC version coming or have I misunderstood?
Yes PC version is coming as well Mac and iOS , still in production as minor bugs are fixed.
I scanned to my phone (using mini & android revo scan v5) and want to send it to my pc, but neither studio (3.0.7.6) nor scan (4.3.1.20230201a) show the required ‘import from phone’.
Any idea ?
You need a Revo Scan 5 on your computer to do that , it is not released yet .
There will be no more Revo Studio in the future . Just Revo Scan 2 in 1
Wait for the official release …
Guys check out Range review from our fellow Beta tester and Beta user Benoit aka @shadows44
It is in French , but CC in English is spot on and of course great results and honest opinion .
Will RevoScan 5.0 support the controllable 2-axis turntable together with Pop 2?
