I just updated my Miraco Pro and tried this new Enhanced Tracking feature and it is phenomenal. I just did an experiment on a Zyxel access point that is basically featureless other than little holes and it just worked with no major losses of features, when before it would have just got confused without surface prep and adding markers. I also tried some other things, and featureless with dark shiny surfaces still confuse it, but this update is huge. I probably should do more testing before saying much more, but I didn’t see anyone talking about it yet.
Hi @davron
Glad to hear you like the new feature ! The new algorithms need less features distance to keep on tracking in result can scan better objects with less features.
Black plastic still absorbs the infrared laser so there is not much you can do , if not working just use 3D spray , since that is obvious limitation with some materials regardless of its actual color .
I hope that they can continue to improve even the older Miraco Pro hardware like this, as it is the device I prefer to bring with me over my other 3d scanners that stay home (since I have to bring my beefier laptop and a power source for them). I would like some other people to chime in on their experiences.
All MIRACO series are updated periodically and not just the Plus or Pro .
It will all depend on their hardware as there is big difference between MIRACO & Plus yet regular version was updated as well.
Hopefully other members of our community share with you their positive experiences with the latest update.
Didn’t know anything about this, but I’ll definitely update and try it this weekend.
Just did some super quick tests… enhanced tracking is borderline voodoo. I think it would be absolutely magical with a Range 2 in large object mode (1300mm range).
I was thinking the same , hopefully this new feature make up to the new software as well
