If you don’t see the update/improvement in the new version, that means they’re on the to-do list, which will be added one by one in the future version.
Revo Scan5 for Win/Mac was updated yesterday morning as well , link in the Download Center , or under Starting Points/Download in the forum .
I recommend you get it as well .
And for all Range users, for the best performance please use Range with RS5 version of the software only .

I’ve noticed when I open the software it does not fit the screen correctly at all. does not matter if i use an external display it still does not open properly. when I try clicking the full-screen icon the program lags and then closes out completely and I need to reopen it. I’ve included a photo to reference on how it looks on the screens

RS5.0.2 has a great improvement of scanning or editing mesh, but performance issue is quite critial,
not all cores for rendering, during (fused->meshing and meshing->textured) process
the textured/ meshing sometimes might crash without notice ( by hanging on the process bar, without CPU loading)
issues 1 was happened on my all 5 machines, (raw to fused) process is fine, all cores are used, but only first 40% (of progress bar) are using all cores, next 30% are using 50% of cores, and the rest was using single core.
issue 2 was only happened on my system 1,2 and 3, I m not sure is the window system issue or what, because both intel and amd are used, and my system 1,2 are running win11, while system 3 is running win10.
issue2 wasnt applied to machine 4 and 5, both can finish the rendering, no hang/ frozen issue, but slow (issue 1)
Because all the data is loaded and processed via RAM before it is written down to your hard drive .
Users disliked very much when the processing was using the whole CPU that why it was changed . I did not liked it either as I prefer to select myself how many core processor I like to dedicate .
Hopefully in the future.
It also process data via RAM then render it down to your files at the end . It do indeed stop sometimes for a while , but I never experienced crash on PC yet while texturing .
Anyway thanks for the detailed feedback , I am sure it will be very valuable for the dev team
As others have mentioned, having issues with the application’s resolution with larger monitors (using a ultra-wide monitor). Application text and font are blown out and i’m unable to see all the features/windows because they do not resize/scale properly rendering the application pretty much unusable because i can’t even see the options that are hidden ‘off’ screen.
Windows 10 Pro
Revo 5.0.2
I have tried it on both my PC (widescreen) and a Windows 10 Surface Pro tablet. In both instances the maximize window button kills the app entirely. Cannot see all features in either instance, though the PC with a widescreen is worse. I can actually see less features on 34" of screen than on the 10" tablet PC.
For now this renders this version nearly useless for me as I cannot export a file.
Also, the ability to Save-As, and specify a location other than the default save location would be beneficial. My first save went to the default, and after changing the default location I could not re-save it to my preferred location. Instead of using a default under preferences, just provide us the traditional save and save-as options.
Yes, this would be great.
In Einscan software, after meshing and before export you can choose to (or more) points on the mesh. The software then tells you what it thinks the distance between them is. You can then take a measurement with calibers and tell Einscan what the measured distance is. It then scales the model correctly.
The workaround to the following as someone else mentioned is to first change the native Windows screen resolution (I used 1280 x 1024) which blows my desktop out, then whilst resolution is still blown out to then start Revo Scan 5 then revert back to my normal windows resolution.
For some reason, it then works (with all the windows, buttons and features all showing). The moment you close the application and want to restart it. You will have to go through this process again.
An inconvenience for sure, but at least we get to use the software.
You can’t flip the scanner position as it uses gyro to register the first object frame in space .
It is not just a video signal that can be flipped .
Just use ball head to flip the scanner to the proper position in that setup and problem solved in place to rewrite the whole software and the firmware hardware .
I use mini ball head to do that in some cases and you have perfect results .
Versión Revo Scan: 5.0.2
SIstema: windows 10
Escaner: POP 2
Hi Mou, Spanish will be added in Revo Scan soon.
For the Rollback function, please pause the scan and see the left tool sidebar, you will find the withdraw button.
