Hi @penneyduck

Just confirm, did you connect the MINI via Wi-Fi host or client mode?

Dont want to sound thick but how do I check?

I am sure you used the proper WiFi connection other way you would never get the FPS you did last time .

I guess your issues on the phone got solved itself right ?

Yes both iphone and ipad getting fantastic FPS.
My desktop is fitted into a rollcab with large monitor so I an moove around the workshop.
That has dual band external wifi dongle.
I am suspecting the wifi dongle is swamping the IOS signal when in close by.
Wired router is in another room.
Will do some proper tests.

same issue here - cant for the life of me figure out how to fix it

actually - only work around - set display to 1920x1200. then open revoscan 5. now set resolution to desired display resoultion. The revo scan 5 is at correct scale. but if you close and reopen its back to overscaled - it seems its defualt is to take the width of the display resolution and scale to that. needs fixing ASAP.

Just watched a Revo boot camp YouTube vid released today using the Range.
10 FPS max.
Not a good advert.

Don’t suggest yourself on that @penneyduck , my Range speed is already faster than that.
They still use the older version of Beta Right now the main focus was on POP and MINI series in general .

The speed of Range will be perfect in upcoming versions since the official devices will also have improved firmware compared to old BETA devices . No to mention Upcoming New official RS5.

We are in Beta , nothing is set in a stone

Yes I understand all that.
Just thought it was a poor ad done by Revo.

You know with this FOV that Range offers even at 7FPS it will still track better than POP2 at 18FPS ( if that was possible)

The Range’s secret sauce is the FOV

I assuming the job was done in the add?..did not watched

Yes understand that.
It’s latest vid on Revo official YouTube channel today.
I just thought the low FPS stuck out like a sore thumb and did not look good on Revos behalf.
Surprised they posted it TBH.

It would be nice if the software could export to something all CAD software understands. I use Alibre Design and it doesn’t seem to import mesh models, which is what I want for reverse engineering. I don’t know if it is possible or too much work to develop, but it would be amazing if the Revopoint software could export the model as a STEP or some other standard that all CAD software recognizes.

In main time you can use free online converting software .

step files are parametric CAD formats, if we merge a point cloud in the 3d scan area we have meshes. you have to look at it as two different things, but there are already a number of tutorials on the Internet (mesh to step).

In general: would it make more sense to create a GitHub account so that users can open tickets there?

A post like this quickly becomes confusing for development and some things could go under.I also know that revoscan is not open source, but you could use dummy files?

I have the POP1, and when I try to use it on my Windows laptop with the latest software, it only gets around 1FPS. But if I shut down that software and fire up an older version (Revo 4.3.1), the same scanner in the same USB port on the same computer gets 10FPS.

POP1 don’t have the right firmware to show the FPS in RS5 , neither do POP2.
New updated software will be rolled out soon and if I good remember also firmwares.

Just to clarify, the POP1 is genuinely only producing about 1FPS in RS5. It’s not that it is showing “1FPS” but is really capturing 10FPS. It is reporting 1FPS and is only capturing 1FPS. Does the POP1 firmware nee to be updated or will future versions of RS5 address this issue?
