Try more advanced app for DATT , it has all possible functions available , working very good on full scanning objects and you can use it with all Revo Scanners, and for photogrammetry and photography.
Tried the Windows version recently and I gotta say it’s a big improvement overall but there’s still some stuff I’d change. Let me list these things down for you.

An option to select and remove any recorded frames is still not present although I was promised in a response during the campaign it would be added. If you still don’t know what I mean please watch the attached gif of how it works in CR Studio.
I believe this feature could literally save any scan killed by sudden drift. (Not to mention the old feature of removing a few last frames seems to be gone as well)

You can’t disable info bubbles by clicking somewhere else on the screen which is kinda annoying. When you try to it plays the Windows warning sound effect, the only way to make it go away is by clicking on the small X.

When you have any of the selecting tools on you can’t click on the color button which enables/disables textures.

You can’t cancel a selection midway by right-clicking nor clicking the Esc key, only by confirming it which isn’t ideal.

A keybind that’s often used in 3D software for quickly switching to the last used tool is the Spacebar key, would be cool to have that functionality in Revoscan too.

The lack of negative selection. As of now it’s only possible to select things but when you make a mistake all you can do is clear the whole selection, most softwares allow for negative selection by holding Alt/Ctrl/Shift key which has no effect here.

The lack of ability to select and remove points in Raw scans. Another one of the priorities in my opinion, it would allow for getting rid of visible artifacts early on resulting in better/faster fusion.

A visible redo/undo button on the task bar. It’s not always possible to do the shortcut and having a visible button would be much easier than searching for it in the menus. Actually the whole topbar could be remade into some illustrated blocks as there’s plenty of space left on a 16:9 monitor for example.

Mapping the numpad keys for moving the camera. This would make orbiting around objects faster when doing selections and stuff. I think a custom keybind setting tab should be also added.

**Your feedback & suggestion: maybe i didn’t see it in my short use of RevoScan 5 Beta. Could you please add: align model to X Y Z plane for models that will be used later for reverse engineering in cad (pick 3+ points on the model and align to the plane)? At least align to on plane (floor) for now would be useful.

Concerned of low frame rate using mini with IOS.

Of course it will improve , hopefully it reach not less than 10 FPS , MINI reached over 12FPS on my PC what is more than specs.
I think at this moment only Marker mode is slower but it always was this way.
RS5 uses new extension and new structure files compared to early versions , at this moment only projects created with RS5 can be opened in RS5.
Yes on my desktop mini on RS5 is 11.5 FPS.
I have some scanning to do at a museum end of April with Range if it turns up by then.
Dont want to take my workstation if I can help it.
Hopefuly IOS will also be updated by then with a better frame rate.
What is the frame rate at the mo with Android?

I am always getting in Android values slightly above 10. Between 10.1 and 10.5 (with a pop2)

Have upgraded IPad mini 6 to RS5.
It’s quite high spec.
That only gives 7FPS as well as IPhone 12.

I scanned and renamed, projects and scans, on my SurfacePro. All saved to google drive (default folder).
When I opened Revoscan5 on my desktop to process the scans, no projects showed on the homepage. (Both computers point to the same google drive directory as default location)
I had to open each project manually, and all projects and scans had their original names.
Seems like renaming and homepage project lists are tied to the computer not the files…
Would be nice if renaming was tied to files and folders for us that use multiple computers.
Also google drive syncing seems to cause a significant slow down in Revoscan5. I ended up turning sync off while Revoscan5 was open. Not sure of this is a google drive or Revoscan5 issue…

Please add support for 3DConnexion SpaceMouse products. These are ubiquitus in the 3D industry and so not having support for them is a big minus.
Please fix UI scaling with high resolution displays. I have a 32" 4k screen on my main PC and the interface looks ridiculous with massive elements everywhere.
Please add back the scanner settings page where things such as SSID can be changed. I can’t find it in V5
Please add the auto-exposure for depth camera
Please change the default path for saved files to %USERPROFILE%\Documents. Having it in %APPDATA% is not ideal.
Other than that, brilliant upgrade! All I can say is: Well done Revopoint. It really looks like a pro piece of software now and the general usability is so much better than before.

You need to have constantly direct fast access to a hard drive , the file in the projects updating constantly back and forth so if you use Google drive it will be much slower including processing .
Get yourself a 1TB Fast USB stick or Portable USB Hard Drive where you can move from one computer to another , I use one with my tablet/PC so I can move project quickly to my PC .
Only projects created on computer with RS5 software or imported from mobile app will show up in the Homepage .

Yes, I can see that I can change it but it would be good if it defaulted to somewhere sensible rather than being buried away in AppData.

Last time when it was under documents users don’t like it either as everyone want to have own fav location to store their projects . That why it is the best choice to change the project location under Settings/General directly after installing the software , and you can have it where you want .
Just remember that the speed and processing time will be affected to some degree by the writing speed of your new location ( for example USB stick, portable or back up hard drive etc)
Very few people will have changed their Documents folder to be on some other kind of media other than the boot SSD. It can be done but is unlikely to have been.
I totally understand that I can change the location and that it’s good practise to do so. I just think a hidden folder under AppData is not a good default location for project files to be saved.
I’m happy to leave it as an issue though if you don’t think it’s valid.
