Of course Andrew, your opinion and feedback matters , we just talk about .
After all the dev team will decide what to do with it, and for me personally really don’t matters since I am using my own locations regardless of the defoult settings .
I’m just thinking of less technical users who may not know to change the default location. We’re all pretty tech-savvy on here by the fact that we’re posting on a forum. The Revopoint scanners appeal to all user levels due to their price point. We need to make the software as easy as possible for them.
Bugs and discrepancies found so far in 5.0.0.117:
- Main window in non-fullscreen (windowed) mode initially doesn’t fit 1920X1080 monitor and cannot be resized. When tried to relocate to another monitor periodically disappears and cannot be restored; only full restart of the application can restore the window (probably remembers invalid coordinates on the screen);
- Accessory-> Dual Axis Turntable->Settings: handle on “Angle” slider doesn’t show up from time to time. It is impossible to control turntable’s angle in these cases;
- The dialog box from the above periodically disappears if tried to move to a different place on the screen and cannot be restored without restarting the whole application (probably remembers invalid coordinates on the screen);
- “Rendering” menu is always visible over the working zone in the “Edit” tab and cannot be moved to a different place.
- There are no Undo/Redo commands available anymore in “Scan” mode. Incorrectly scanned features cannot be undone anymore during the scan.
- “New Project” doesn’t allow to chose the project name anymore; naming projects is not intuitively clear.
Why the passed words for the mni on Android phone and IPad is not valid anymore.Any new passed word for on Revo Scan 5 .It take very long time to process the after scanning object.In color even take longer until my phone jammed.
Latest IOS release with mini is still only giving 7FPS.
If my Range is this bad when it arrives next month Revo will be having it back at their cost.
The whole projects are now saved on your phone and not just the fuse/obj file , it allows to import it later to computer for faster processing .
I don’t think it is slower, it just process everything at once that why it seems so long since fusing, meshing and texturing is done in one run no matter if you need it or not .
I think we need an options for the individual processing setting . You don’t have to fuse the point cloud anymore and still import it for processing on your computer .
Are there any Range beta testers out there that have tested RS5 on IOS device?
I hope there is. If not there should be.
What frame rate is Range giving giving at the mo on RS5?
All beta testers are under NDA until the Beta trial ends so not all information can be shared at this giving moment especially on a devices that are not released yet . It is still work in progress after all and nothing is written in a stone.
Ok I understand.
Will there be another beta release for windows at the weekend?
My version ends on the 31st.
Well I guess that’s answered me question.
It was released 8 hours ago

You see @penneyduck POP2 and MINI running almost 3 frames faster than it was originally designed on PC , so still work in progress , it will only get better !
Yes Mini on Win 10 PC is great at 11.5 FPS.
On IOS bad at 7 FPS.
Thats a large percentage drop.
I use a widescreen monitor with a resolution of 3440x1440 pixels. The software does not scale properly with the resolution, see here: https://i.imgur.com/55AqoxU.png
With the last update of Revo Scan 5 .0.01 today on PC POP2 runs at max 14FPS almost 45% faster than ever before what is good for tracking , Range today runs at max 13FPS ( should be between 12-18) , marker mode is still slower but it is always slower than general mode . Things getting improving, reminder it is still a BETA.
Hopefully iOS don’t stay to much behind with the updates.
I’m wondering if the lower rate of iOS is related to the amount of RAM (on iPhones is usually less than on Androids) because on the other hand iPhones have better processors
Nope.
7FPS on IPad mini 6.
Has high end processor, 6 GB ram.
Android phones are not higher I believe.
Ran mini today with latest update on my win 10 desktop.
Still 11.5 FPS.
No change from yesterday.
32 GB ram etc.
Info for Revo.
Marker Mode
Feature Mode
what is actually excellent .
The FPS speed will be lower when using WiFi connection
With IOS there is no choice but WI-FI.
Using WI-FI on win 10 desktop 11.5 FPS.
IOS 7 FPS.
