Latest software for Metro fails to calibrate a MetroX

Just installed the new software and tried to run a calibration. It failed. I did it again and it failed again.

BUG??

Not that I experienced , but you may send an email to customer@revopoint3d.com and share your feedback .

After the latest version was released 5.8.3 I calibrated 4 scans at first try without problem , the early version 5.8.2 had more issues .

ok, reported to email

Thank you Robin !

I had the issue where after installing software, I had to restart the computer first before running and doing a calibration. When I tried to calibrate right after installing I had issues.

I wonder why , did the camera permission not completely kicked in ?

No clue. I just know that that I had that issue and doing a restart fixed it. The o’ Microsoft approach

The other Microsoft approach… try it on a different computer. It calibrates on my laptop, but not my desktop. Works like a charm on my desktop but won’t finish a calibration (fails at the calculation stage). So I’m sure it’s something system dependent but I wasn’t motivated to keep investigating.

Tried the reboot trick. Didn’t make any difference, calibration still failed. Now in the hands of support.

We had yesterday conversation with the team about your case and others to find out if it has to do with the data flows between the USB and the scanner or something else , they working on it .

My PC can’t calibrate ( failing at the end ) , yet my laptop had no issues at all by first attempt, little mystery here. But definitely not the issue of the device itself .
