Is the POP 4 better than MetroX?

LOL, that’s a “big” difference.

That is so true , people bought Mini to scan Tracks , and Range for scanning coins , it happens…

The dream of markerless laser tracking for scanning whole cars or other big things would be amazing as a pop 4 ultra or a pop 4 follow up.

Hi @Melatonin

We all dream about that
POP 4 do have an option to scan featureless objects as long they do have unique patterns in gray scale or color . I just tested it scanning b&w photos .

However with laser scanning the laser do not project a pattern , for that reason markers are needed for tracking , most of the Auto surfaces are usually in one monochrome color so texture tracking would not works either …

Right now only Trackit have the ability to scan everything without markers

POP 4 capacity is not really made for scanning full cars either , only small sections. But you never know what is already cooking in the Revopoint kitchen as usually it is always something ..so fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:

:crossed_fingers:keep cooking.

I agree with PUTV. I have a MIRACO PLUS, MetroYPro and have just ordered the POP4. I can see myself using each one for different tasks depending on the required output. It is hard to beat the convenience of the MIRACO PLUS, I really love this scanner, but it cant do what the MetroY Pro can do. I am getting the POP4 because it can scan in daylight, the other two cant.

I do Engineering work, Film and TV work, VR/AR work, stuff for CNC/3D printing etc. I am really looking forward to trying out the POP4.
