Has anybody received their MetroY , PRO, INSPIRE 2?

Updated to arrive Monday the 20th. Too bad, I was hoping to do some scans on the weekend. I’m currently using an older Creaform Goscan 50, and am really interested to see if this is as much of an upgrade as the marketing suggests.

Don’t relay on marketing , relay on specifications only , that’s what you buying .

I must say MetroY Pro is the best quality scanner to date released by Revopoint and most versatile . I basically can retire everything else. If it had tracker as Trackit it would be a winner on the market in the price range.

I should get my Metro Y Pro today, I have a plan once I get it and I believe it should go great.

I would assume first thing you want to once installed and function, is calibrate and scan the statue

I just got a call from Fedex (my phone said it was likely a spam call but it wasnt).

I had the idea to start my own as I recently lost my job.

I’d put “Rapid Prototyping & Scanning Business name to be confirmed” on my order was so I could potentially claim it on expenses next year if/when I did start a company.

BUT…. Revopoint didn’t put that on my actual invoice so it’s just addressed to me personally so that was a waste of time. However they did put it on the import papers so now they’re demanding a business EROI number to import the goods and I cannot provide one because I’m not a business!

And the icing on the cake, is Revopoint DIDNT put “name to be confirmed” so as far as FeDEX are concerned this is addressed to a business not to a private individual and I can’t prove I’m not a business because that’s impossible, I can’t show them something that doesn’t exist! And I have a nasty feeling they won’t make any effort to prove that I am a business (If a business were registered to me or to my address it would be available freely to anyone on our governments website)

So bottom line, I’m in a mess, hopefully FedEX will accept my apology and my explanation within 5 days otherwise they will return the parcel at the Revopoints expense.

All I can do is cross my fingers and hope for the best.

No you don’t want to calibrate , I do not calibrate my scanners unless there is a specific issue . Also let it acclimatize if outside is a different temperatures than inside before usage.

You could lose the imported package or get penalty for importing stuff under none existing company.

You also can’t use that import invoice for anything , the date would be before you set up your company , totally useless .

That was a very bad idea !

You know who going to be charged on the return expense ? Not Revopoint
You better pretend you made a mistake on the check out .

Nice, that was major issue I had with the competitor product that I returned. In fact I never could calibrate it at all. Excelient.

You know the first sign your scanner needs calibration ? It have hard time seeing markers from any direction in any mode , especially Full Field

Second issue , the scans have goosebumps .

That are the times it need calibration and if you do make sure you have enough lighting while calibrating since the RGB camera will take pictures of the calibration board for evaluating the proper settings .

Hopefully, I have no issues with when it does need calibration. I decided on Metro series base on a video I saw on it calibration with rgb view while calibrating. My hands are not as steady as they should be

My Metro Y Pro in transit but at 12 pm in hour and half, I have 30 minute conference with Blender Bros

I’m quite confident it will be ok, the invoice is to me personally at my personal address and not to any company or anything, I’ll show them that and explain the confusion further if needed.

The notes about “Rapid Prototyping and Scanning Business TO BE CONFIRMED” were very clear on the order, and I don’t know why they chose to remove the text “TO BE CONFIRMED” at the end.

Whatever, I’m sure it’ll be fine, but I’m confident this will cause an unwanted delay at my end

I really hope it get resolved for you , good luck !

You should never do that , let’s start from it .
Sorry but that is the fact and you should know better.

I should know better?

I know you work for revopoint but calm down, I didn’t make any mistakes with my paperwork.

Yes you should know better to not putting company names that don’t exist while importing a product . That’s the whole problem here. You may not expect this to happen but it did . Here in the USA stuff like that are under criminal charge & penalties including destroying the imported package as of result. Not a joke !

I am totally calm , and I truly hope they resolve that issue for you in no time.

P.S if the package get returned , Revopoint will have to pay import tax and shipping so hopefully it don’t go this way .

Sorry, you clearly dont understand, let me get it one line for you:

I did not put a company name on the address that didn’t exist.

Does that clear things up?

You publicly already confessed your intention to claim it as a business expense. No matter if they put it on Invoice or not , they have to include it on Import documents what is exactly what you need to claim your business expense . How you expect it to be just on your invoice to make the claim ? That’s not how this work. It is an commercial Import in this case.

You see , if you just ordered it for yourself as everyone else without confusing notes on the order, there will be today no problem at all.

so who is to blame for it other but yourself ?

I just got myself 2 orders as commercial import for the same reason , please don’t tell me I don’t understand the situation.

I consider pre-release specs marketing. We’ll see if it can live up to the hype. Obviously I hope it can, because I bought it…

I receive my scanner, and I hook it up to my Asus 2025 G16 with 5070ti and it was scanning low frame rate but it indicated that with scanner plugged in Thunderbolt 4 slot, it thought it was on USB 2.0.

I needed to eat dinner, but after that I will hook it up to my Razer Thunderbolt 5 dock and see if I can get better results - or hook it up to my Alienware R16 with 4080 super.

Only had it for 15 minutes, I sure I can get it working
