Has anybody received their MetroY , PRO, INSPIRE 2?

So it looks like they’re processing orders from roughly the first week in September now which is cool. In my experience, US shipping is always extremely fast, sometimes more than a week faster than other parts of the world did to the sheer volume of shipments and simplicity of paperwork, so much population coming under almost just one set of rules/paperwork, Europe really need to get their stuff together and unite properly!

Fingers crossed, I’ll know more soon, I did cave in and contact support just to ask for an update and they were very polite but didn’t offer any sort of lead time.

I’m new here. This is my first scanner of any type. I did receive a shipping number but ups hasn’t picked it up yet. Mine is coming from Malaysia and being shipped to the Seattle area. Ordered on 9/3.

Oh wow, I appreciate all the work you all are doing! I didn’t expect for you all to work on a Saturday. I truly want work life balance for you all.

I feel very lucky here; we have to sign for our package. If we miss them, we can go to the depot to pick them up. When I lived in Brisbane, package theft wasn’t a big problem. Mind you, the DHL guy would deliver to me last so he could sit down and play with my dog!

Such an American reaction, if shipment to the EU would be a week faster I will get my package 2-3 days before i ordered it from China. In the other hand getting a package from the US might take up to six months in my experience from ordering records.

My second order with INSPIRE 2 was shipped but not yet picked up … hopefully next week delivery get as smooth as the last one with MetroY Pro.

hmm well hopefully it’s at least usable with the 32gb ram. I could try to upgrade my laptop but it’s still in warranty and I don’t want to open it up.

Adding RAM to your laptop will not void the warranty if you do not damage any components during the process.

Some manufacturers may require professional installation. Check your laptop’s specific warranty terms.

If you talk about MetroY Pro the Auto mode then it is the most RAM hungry mode , scanning objects in color around 5-7 inches and fuse them at 0.05mm and meshing can lead to crashing due to low RAM. As there are set no limitation in processing and the scans can become so huge excessing over 100 millions of polygons , my max was over 150 millions , of course in situation like that you need to simplify the mesh before texturing or editing to avoid crashing .

In your case models around 5-6 millions will works ok with the amount of RAM including texturing and all processing .

best i have had is 2 full days from china to Australia and 3 from Odense Denmark to Oz as it got held up in Singapore if it goes via Sydney I’m screwed depending on carrier if it lands in Brisbane before midday i will have it the next day

If it is shipping from Malaysia , for some reason all packages shipped from Malaysia with UPS are not delayed by the customs . Unless UPS already fixed the bottleneck they had one month ago here in the US.

My INSPIRE 2 was not picked up so probably tomorrow evening my time ET ( Monday ) , I don’t know if the carrier works on the weekends in Malaysia but I guess not .

I believe the bottleneck has been fixed - if you look back here - you see one that ship from Malaysia and was receieve about two or three days laters. It sounds if their is a bottleneck it is Malaysis and likely also the weekend. UPS has not even receieve it.,

These are being shipped to the USA in consolidated shipments, since they are using “UPS World Ease”. Similar to the way AliExpress does it now

The issues are only between UPS and packages received from China , not Malaysia

So all is good .

They are not shipped from China .. the bottleneck issues are only with packages shipped from China or products ( made in China ), just saw news about it .

Yes, I’ve read the articles. Excerpt from NBC:

Not exactly in my case and one of my friends in USA , my package in September had no paper issues or unpaid tartifs, it passed customs without problems 3 days after arriving but was hold back for 20 days after custom clearance for not specific reasons .

Since Revopoint stopped shipping packages or products direct from China because of that issue regardless if paper are correct or not , this situation do not apply anymore and nobody should be worry about it .

So let it go for now.

That is good to know especially since for my order says Malaysia - hopefully most are coming from there

I’m not sure I understand, or that you understood, and I’m not American, I’m European? The reason the US gets shipments faster is they’re financially a priority for manufacturers and suppliers, because the size of the region makes for large consolidated shipments, and once the paperwork is understood, high volumes can be shipped with minimal paperwork.

Europe on the other hand, if it is not been shipped consolidated to a 3rd party (which incurs additional 3rd party costs) then it has to be shipped individually either per item or much smaller consolidations to each country separately, this creates many different sets of paperwork that has to be learned and understood by the person responsible, each country has it’s own papers.

The combination of many factors makes the US favourable, high demand per region, high volume per consolidation, low quantity of paperwork per consolidated shipment.
