Settings are High Accuracy mode, both remove markers and Remove noise are turned completely off.
have also tried fast fusion and does the same thing.
And yet, when i fuse, detail is constantly being deleted on the last two cylinders.
Actually I noticed no difference when fusing with and without Denoise option checked.
The last two ports on this engine scan are always deleted and i have no idea why

The fusion will delete every area if the scan that are not connected to the base scan , that probably what is going on here.
I propose you add the area to the already scanned scan and capture the missing points to avoid the software to remove it.
Also how lower the fusion settings how more lose points are deleted , scan of this caliber are usually scanned in section to capture the all angles correctly making sure the whole area is connected to the main scan.
Before there was a raw standard fusing function to fuse the scan but it created so much notices that it was removed.

you could make a copy of that file, then cut away everything but that area and a bit of the surrounding. Fuse, then merge. Ghetto I know, but worth a shot
Just copy the project multiple times and change the project name , then load it up , cut half of the scan and fuse , it should help preserving the areas , later everything can be merged back to the original scan .
Can you even do that with a laser scan? The trimming part, I mean.
For autoturntable stuff, I had to go all the way back to 5.6.2 (and that’s RevoScan5 for MetroX, not Revo Metro) to get a demonstrably different point cloud after fusion that restores a lot of the smaller details (especially in undercuts) that are scrubbed away in current versions. For laser scans, I couldn’t see any meaningful differences. The only thing that made a difference is to never go smaller than 0.15 point distance in HQ fusion (fast fusion seems to lose data no matter what). Oddly enough, 0.15 is the original minimum setting for the MetroX in laser scanning mode, which is either coincidence or conspiracy.
Quick testing shows turning the “Remove Isolated Points” option off retains the scan data that was previously removed. At least on laser scans. The option exists for structured light scans but doesn’t seem to do much of anything differently. Again these are quick tests.
