I’m done scanning my object.
I click Complete scan.
And I get this:
Something is happening between completing the scan and the software showing me the scan and letting me work with it.
I’m not sure if it’s a Pop4 thing or Revoscan 6 thing, but no other Revopoint scanner I ever had did this.
For small scans, it’s fine - this process last for 20-30 seconds to a minute.
But for large scans, with 5-8k frames it lasts for 10-15minutes!!!
It even seems worse in VCSEL mode than in Fullfield or Laser.
I scanned a backpack in VCSEL mode - around 6k frames.
After I completed the scan and while this wheel was spinning, I got bored, got out the Miraco, scanned the backpack with Miraco, fused the scan on the miraco at 0.3mm (couldn’t get lower), cleaned it, created the mesh and created texture - all while my desktop Ryzen 5600, 32gig, 5070ti was still doing something.
Let me emphasize this - it’s not fusing the render yet. After it is done spinning the wheel you get to see your scan for the first time, only then you get to run the fusing process.
Throughout all this time, the blue led is blinking on the scanner - it kinda seems as if Revoscan is downloading scanned data from the scanner - but it’s impossible, right? The scan data is streamed live during scanning - there should be absolutely nothing for Revoscan to do after we click Complete.
