At the moment I’m not able to calibrate my Pop4 scanner. I get “Failed to set camera parameters.”, and the program prompts me to re-connect my scanner. After multiple re-connects and restarting my computer it still won’t work.
Which OS?
Did you grant Permissions for camera access?
Can you see a preview of the camera?
Sorry I left my problem a bit unspecified. It’s on Windows. I found that it’s a usb problem, and the only way I’ve got it to work is by connecting it to a usb-a 3.0 port through a dongle. Direct usb-c in my front port (to pci-e card) or a hub doesn’t work and indeed doesn’t give a camera preview ever, and also doesn’t work in scanning.
However, even with the dongle the connection is very hit or miss, and sometimes the preview just doesn’t want to come up and I won’t be able to scan through USB at all. Wifi works fine though..
Hi @fenjen
The front USB ports are bad and mostly never work proper , the device is picky when it get about USB ports and not all of them will works .
If you use adapter maker sure it support data and charging since the device need to be powered .
Calibration is only possible though USB , but after you check first the calibration check and it it says Checking Passed , don’t calibrate it .
Switch to WiFi as it will provide actually the same speed.
Same problem here with the calibration-process. I’ve tried already all USB-ports on my machine, some of them are saying it is only USB 2.0 even if they are blue; the USB next to this one in the same line of the motherboard is surprisingly 3.0… I did not get managed to calibrate the device yet.
I bought now 3 different USB-C to USB-A adapters and on revopoint-store-site also a POP4 USB-C to USB-A cable.
I hope this will help with the issues, like that I can only scan with the Infrared-methods when i am connected via WiFi; if connected via cable+adapter i can only make the blue lasers work. Sadly no reply to this from support since 3 days ![]()
My laptop is so picky , only my Thunderbolt USP C working with all my scans , regular USB 3 A ports don’t at all recognize the scanners .
However I did purchased an Thunderbolt USB cable 8GB and it helped with the USB issues and connections across my machines.
I think most issue is the steady powering , if there are issues the system will refuse to connect as updating the USB driver by removing it and reinstalling helps too.
Avoid to use front side of PC USB ports, they are usually underpowered .
I know for a fact that is not really the device issue but exclusive the USB port or the cable in many cases .
And it is very frustrating when it happens.
