Anyone having problems with the latest version (.7) MetroX doing nothing when I try to scan. It acts like it’s trying to scan but isn’t. Nothing in range, but I see markers in the preview window.
I don’t get it, it’s not working. MetroX doesn’t detect any range. If I disable GPU it works, but with GPU enabled it does not. Trying an older vid driver now.
No idea what is going on because I have no issues and actually scan better at lower angle compared to before .
Did you changed the minimum to maximum range sliders ? It helps changing it to min-max
I will check with my other GPU and see if there is any issue .
Since I remember you are using Nvidia Quadro so maybe driver issue
My Studio driver did not perform well had to switch to Gaming driver .
I re ran the calibration on the 9900k/4080 machine. Made no difference. It’s very difficult to use this machine with the short USB cable that comes with MetroX. But I have reproduced the problem w/ it. It is clearly NOT the quadro driver version or the quadro equipped main machine.
Further, MetroX was working fine with the .5 release and now does not when I downgrade to the older version of the software. Only thing that was changed was the calibration. I did not calibrate when I installed .5
I will try purging MetroX from the 12950/a4500 machine and run calibration AGAIN with the older software.
MetroX has been stored in it’s case, has not been bumped or banged in between.
OK, I uninstalled the software, started with .3, ran a calibration. Tested it, worked (CPU of course). Upgraded to .5. Tested and it in GPU mode and it does NOT work. (I used .5 before w/ the GPU upgrade and it worked fine.)
I don’t see anything physically wrong with it. If I disable GPU it works but is slow FPS and the scans come out poorly.
I guess I’m screwed and my MetroX has to be shipped back to China for repair and I’ll have to find some other solution to my scanning needs.
Hi, thank you so much for the test and detailed description, we have forwarded the issue to our development team to check, any update will be sent asap here.
Yap scan quality more better.
Now point distance working in fusion group.
But when scanning much more frequently, it started losing the
markers much more often – even though you hold the scanner pointing at
the markers.
I don’t think your MetroX is broken if that was the case you would not be able to scan using CPU , using GPU or CPU really don’t matter here for the hardware, it is how the system perform here with GPU or CPU .
Something is blocking the GPU performance and you can make appointment with Revopoint under customer@revopoint3d.com
To figure it out since you already did everything on your side.
Since not everyone experience that issue it is not a bug either.
I used RTX 4060 and everything working just fine as before , actually better overall.
Apparently there was a breakdown in communication, my appointment today had nothing to do with yesterday’s and I had to bring him up to speed from scratch. Then he deferred it back to R&D. Supposedly I’ll get another answer today…
