Hi! You should give a dry shampoo spray a try! or baby powder, which needs for more cleaning afterwards.

The update of POP firmware can be done only by the assistance of the customer support , please write request to customer@revopoint3d.com The best to use dry shampoo or powder if the hair are very shiny, you can also use the last RS5.0.6 version and use auto depth exposure , it will adjust automatic the exposure while you scanning darker materials , however with POP I would prefer to use dry shampoo .

3D Scanning Hair?

If you set the gain higher and still can’t catch the hair then you will not able to do that , some black hair scan well other don’t for some reason . For the difficult to scan dark hair , the only option is to use dry shampoo or baby powder , same for eyebrows or facial hair .

Scanning hard to see objects

@Karl-D dry shampoo will create too many noises , unless you use it on dark hair and beard in body mode , but baby powder works better . You can also use white hair spray for fine layer For objects that can be washed and are no porous, I use also Temporary Marker, it creates very light layer and dry quickly , then after scanning just washing off with water ,great for black plastic , metal parts, shiny ceramic , glass etc…
