Just installed, over the 5.6.0
Still will not allow me to move/drag from my laptop to another screen, most times it will only drag half way then get stuck.
And then when it does eventually make it, most of the button/icons don’t work.

Hello, could you provide us with a video clip? We will have the software team investigate this issue.

Hi, I posted this for 5.6.0, but still applicable:

5.6.1 Needs a lot of work! The DPI scaling is no good, have to go into compatibility mode in windows 11 to get it to scale right, but even then it gets jittery. Tracking and lack of GPU support and all-around ergonomics of the software are a mess along with the color scheme. The team should really look into competitor’s software as of late, it scales right and is way more responsive. I hate being a beta tester. This is my 3rd scanner and competitor is knocking it out of the park regarding updates. Hope we get the same attention… or I my look into selling my MetroX to some poor soul.

Lack of gpu support- is this why i have to uncheck the ‘gpu accelerated rendering’ to get my preview to work? Im using the metro x, 5.6.1, i have a dell XPS 15 with an i7-11800H and RTX3050ti. Windows graphics settings are set to default so it chooses automatically which gpu to use ( integrated or nvidia). The RTX is definitely active during scans as shown in my task manager and my cpu is pinned at 100% (40+fps in x-laser mode  ), but when post processing its fast asleep.

I have 13th Gen i9-13900H with 64GB RAM, and yes it does have the option for GPU but I only see 12% utilization and on my RTX 3080 GPU (16GB), memory isn’t being utilized as well on the GPU. I have built multiple rigs. The optimization of the software is subpar at best. Compared to Crealitys software whitch Revopoint is in direct competition with, and DPI scaling is broken as some users have reported along with mediocre tracking (stuttering). This isn’t my first rodeo with Revopoint products or Crealitys, not a fanboy of either. You think the software is polished for primetime? They have had plenty of time to work out the bugs with their main software over the years, also why make two pieces of software when everything can be joined into one? Download a demo of crealitys software you will be supersized on what you find.

The metro X is my first experience with any 3D scanner, besides Lidar, and photogrammetry on my iPhone. I wouldn’t know bad software versus good software, as I have nothing really to compare it with. I’m just happy it works on my computer! Well, it seems to be so far. I’m in the process of scanning a black shiny car right now, we will see how that goes.

I hope the developers at Revopoint take feedback from experienced users, such as yourself, and work quickly to alleviate issues and maximize user experience.

I hope as well, MachChicken. These 3d scanners are very much software dependent so if the software is bad; then no matter how good the hardware is, it will always suffer from bad programing. It runs fine on my computer btw, it’s just that it could be sooo much better with correct optimization.

I’m hopeful then!
My Audi A4 has scanned up beautifully so far.

Same Problems at Order Scanner Software…
I use a Kreon-Scanarm at work with their own Software Zenith.
No GPU Support, so many Crashs when Scan is above 4GB, and many more Problems.
I Hope that revopoint will do it better…

Seems like fusing and meshing are single-threaded, showing ~6% usage on an AMD 7950x. Most of the cores go to sleep.

Revoscan 5.5 regularly utilizes all cores and shows ~40-50% cpu usage.

i had a beastly scan processing last night… took a long time, but it DID successfully complete the one-click post processing. I saw 20-30% cpu usage at the most, with something in the mid to low 20%'s as the average. I think it had almost 30,000,000 polygons by the finish. I was able to view the mesh and isolate and crop down the mesh with relative ease. Although one option (clip) really slowed things down… i didnt use it again lol… On smaller scans ‘clip’ worked perfectly fine though
