The new version of Revoscan Metrox is way too restrictive. I can no longer even use my scanner with the software. It registers that the scanner is connected, but will not let me scan.
I am running a Xeon W-11855M, but it only has 6 cores. Doesnt matter that I have 64 GB of ram. Spec wise its better than an i7-10700
That’s really weird what’s going on, it allows you to install so what the heck, if that was not good it should not allow you to install it in the first place .
Try to change the settings on top right and uncheck the GPU acceleration and see if you can scan after reboot .
The limitation is only cards no lower than RTX 3050
So try to change the settings … I predicted it yesterday and exactly what happened.
I can’t even check/uncheck GPU acceleration because my card is no longer supported. Which is fine, not being able to scan at faster fps is not the end of the world for me. But not running at all because of the CPU is crazy.
No other settings I tried made a difference. Tried changing modes and it just hangs up in the “switching modes”
I agree there is something going on with 5.6.4. I bought a brand new Lenovo laptop for the MetroX, everything worked perfectly on 5.6.3 and the Performance Check said “PC will run optimally”. Now, just installed 5.6.4 (and also upgraded firmware on device to latest) and the Performance Check says “will run with lags” and it runs so much worse - with lags. I’ve turned off GPU Acceleration and it’s only marginally better. I think for now I will revert back to 5.6.3 until this can be resolved. How did I go from “runs optimally” to “runs with lags” in one software revision, with no other hardware changes?
I tried MetroX with my Lenovo XiaoXin 16 laptop (aka Ideapad Slim 5) with a Ryzen7 8845/32Gb processor and an integrated Radeon M780 graphics card - of course, the program cannot use this GPU when scanning… but, surprisingly, I did not have a lag, unlike a desktop computer with an Intel i9-10900F/128Gb with an RTX4070/12Gb. Despite the fact that the scanning resolution on the laptop was 0.3
I have slightly slower Desktop than yours and it works optimal , with GPU acceleration or without .
You have a lot better system that is requested so something is off .
I know also that using portable HD can slow down the process if your project folder is setup outside the main system frame. I used it once and then had to switch to M2 SSD for full performance.
