Unable to rename a RevoTrack project

All my attempts to rename a RevoTrack project are failing. Will RevoTrack handle just renaming the project file via windows? I seem to remember that breaking things in the past.

Renaming project via the Homepage will not rename the actual project saved by on the hard drive .

The homepage is not a browser , it is preview of the last opened project .

Change the name of your project direct on the location . Only the project folder name and never inside structure.

  1. Open Folder
  2. Change the project folder name
  3. Open the project folder you changed the name in Revo Scan again to add it to the homepage history

This worked in RevoScan just as I’m showing it. I could rename from the home page as shown, and the project file in windows would assume the new name.

So I just did this:

  1. Start a new project and use the “project naming popup” to change the default name at the time of creation (TSC_ShortARM).
  2. Save the project (without scanning).
  3. Exit to the home page to see if the project name was created correctly.

When I go to the home page the newly created project doesn’t show up. It DID however create that project in the specified project directory with the correct/selected name.

What I see on the home page (at step3):

What I see in windows (at step3)

The data folder inside of the new project is empty, but the file “TSC_ShortARM.revo” was created / exists. I can open the .revo file directly as expected. (clicking in windows, not from RevoTrack)

If I import data to the project (after opening with windows), then it shows up on the homepage. AFTER THAT I can rename the project from the homepage as expected.

So, basically if I don’t select a specific name for a project during creation, it can’t be renamed from the homepage. This appears to be a regression from Revoscan.

It also appears that if a project is created, saved without data, it can’t be displayed on the home page. It’s almost like if there is no “preview” the project can’t exist on the homepage.

I guessI was not clear , did you checked the project in the actual folder after changing its name on the Homepage ?
I always give a band if needed before starting a new project anyway and never after .

For a reason that the main folders did not changed its name via homepage , unless this bug was fixed already .
