Some noise fusing points

I am getting some noise when I fuse the points only in marker mode or global markers. In Feature mode everything is good. Somebody noticed that? I can see better the scan in the raw preview than after fusing points. (I used a MINI 2 and the latest version of Revoscan).
It´s not a calibration issue, it’s something when fusing points.
I tried to go to a previous version, but I cannot open the files.
Thank you in advance

Hi @peko

You don’t see noises in the preview because it is low resolution preview and not the actual full version.

Always mesh the scan based on your fusing settings , if fused for example at 0.5 mm mesh it at the Grid setting of 0.5 mm for best results , setting higher level of meshing than fusing could results in artifacts where additional points are created .

Regarding markers, if marker mode give you a bad result , it is indicator that the scanner need to be calibrated .

I will forward your issue to the team and try to replicate your bug and let you know about the result ASAP

Hi PUTV, and thank you for your reply.
I didn’t meshed the file. I only fused the points.
The scanner doesn’t needs to be calibrated because, I enter in the option of calibration and make the previous test and says that is calibrated, and with feature mode I get better results.
Other problem I note is that it takes all the resources of the computer when fusing. I don’t have these problems with feature mode. I think is some kind of bug. I recently updated the program to latest version.
Is there any way to fuse the points out of revoscan? or any universal revopoint application? I cannot use previous version, due I have not the piece to scan now.
Regards

Hi @peko

If you have issues with resource just fuse it at lower values

I will check tonight if there is an issue with the software and MINI 2, and let you know what to do .

If it is bug issue we can arrange early version for you if you don’t have it anymore.

You can see the difference between fused and not fused. In my opinion I can only see clearly the markers (really clear and precise circles made of points).
In my opinion could be a bug. I think the image is better in not fused scan.
Other problem I had is that after some frames when I am scanning, other ones dissapeared…and I should scan back.
Fused

Not fused

(The marker blocks are not black)

Ok thank you for the images

Did you tried the function clean lose points and overlapped detection after fusing to remove all the overlapped points because that’s what they are ?

The preview is just a preview of the frames not an object , it is unorganized preview .

Try to clean up the lose isolate points after fusing as that’s what usually everyone is doing after.

And don’t suggest yourself with the preview , as it is just virtual preview of how the scan should look.like after fusing and cleaning .

Also can you scan the bust that came with using marker mode for reference ?

Yes, I tried. The results are worse than feature mode.
I scanned the bust:
Before fusing:

After fusing:

And as you can see the markers are really good…Could they be maybe very reflective? I have white ones and these ones that are reflective, but both came from Revopoint.

Yes I can see the bug now very clearly

Thank you for testing it out with the bust.
The team is going to investigate it and I will give you reply by tomorrow .

Thank you!
Note that I tried to fuse in two computers (both i7 one with RTX 3060Ti and 16Gb RAM Other i7 1050 Ti and 32Gb RAM), and both gave me memory errors. I think that shouldn’t happen, and doesn’t happen in feature mode. In one of them, the program closed.
In all ways, I hope that’s just a fusing problem and not scan problem. I use it for professional use, and the piece came back to my customer.

Don’t worry , if there is any problem with your scanner it will be fixed quick by our technical support team.
You not lose anything.

Do you mean with the scanner or the scans? as explained I don’t have the scanned piece

The scanner.

Yes, I know. But as explained I think that that’s a fusing error. Any explanation?

Not yet , the team is still investigating .
I will let you know ASAP

I note that fusing points with markers takes too much time, and sometimes freezes my computer. In feature mode verything runs faster. I noted too one time that Acestream opened without any reason during fusing. Could be related?

Hi @peko I will be back at work tomorrow evening at 8 pm ET time
So we can continue with this issue , the office is closed for the weekend.

Ok PUTV. Thank you a lot!!
