Curious why Windows and Mac, does you need it on it one that running Revo Metro

Also does it support iPad Pro M2

Revo Metro have already build in Mirror in the software , you need to install Mirror on your mobile device only to control the computer software with it .

Compatible with Windows ,MacOS , Android and iOS

You need to send the signal from computer to your mobile device to control the software screen, it is not a mobile standalone Revo Scan , it is mobile mirror only app, controlling Revo Metro via a mobile device so you can scan far from your main computer yet use the computer power .

Does using the phone mirror add noticable latency compared to wired? Sounds really cool though, can’t wait to try it. I have a Pixel 6, is that fast enough of a phone?

The new WiFi network for the scanners is optimal and especially designed for that .

I guess there can be different experiences with a different phones, tablets and systems

You will need to check it out with your own phone to give it a proper justice.

What really happening is the scanner is actually scanning using own WIFi network connection direct in the computer , what is as good as using a cable since I did not experienced lots of issues.

It is not exactly typical screen mirroring style, since it uses 2 scanning apps but only the computer is actually processing it using own system power .. and the other just for a virtual representation.

Like you scanning on your phone or tablet but your computer doing all the heavy lift and processing.

All devices used , need to be on the same scanner WiFi network. Your computer and your mobile device both connected at the same time to the scanner direct WiFi network.
By around 25-30 feet distance from the main computer you may lose maybe around 14% on the scanner network.

  1. Could I scan the dash of my truck which is sitting outside with computer inside
  2. Maybe silly question, but while I am waiting on scanner which should be early next week - could I test Mirror out with out scanner

Hi @hstewarth

1.No , you can’t use it outdoors , the outdoors daylight will mess up the sensors , but you can do it one hour after the sunset or one hour before the sunrise or in a garage or when it is dark outside since it don’t need actually light to scan .

  1. No, you can’t use it without scanner because the application is using the scanner Internet WiFi network that is needed to run the mirror option .
  2. Only Inspire 2, MetroY and MetroY Pro can be used at this time , but more scanners may be added in the future.

What I talking about not actually outdoor - in side the truck’s cabin. I also currious I notice in video for Inspire 2 that their is filter for outdoor, is that possible for Metro Y Pro?

I didn’t acually expect Mirror would work without device but you mentioned that Mirror is inside the Revo Metro software and I give it a try, I will need to installed it when I get it. I did notice I had to manually put IP in and wondering if required - or does scan for one.

That’s not just a filter , it is a powerful infrared laser that works only in Avery shirt distance outdoors . So not workable at full range outdoors .

Yes you can scan in one room and having computer in another.. that is very handy in so many cases and I love it .
