Subject: Revo Scan 6 — Multiple Bugs (Miraco Pro): Installer, Transfer, and 3D Mouse Issues
Hey folks, anyone else having these issues with Revoscan 6 and Miraco Pro?
This is an email I sent to customer support
I’m writing to report several significant issues I’ve encountered with Revo Scan 6 (build dated 7/25/26) on Windows, used with my Miraco Pro. Revo Scan 5 works correctly for all of the same tasks, so these appear to be regressions specific to version 6.
-
Installer did not create shortcuts
After installing, no shortcut was created in the Start Menu or Startup folder. I had to manually right-click the RevoScan6.exe and create one myself. -
Application requires “Run as administrator” to open at all
Revo Scan 6 will not launch under my normal user account — the process starts and appears briefly in Task Manager, then closes with no window ever appearing. It only opens successfully when run elevated (as administrator). This suggests a permissions issue with the install, likely related to the installer not creating shortcuts properly either. -
Wi-Fi transfer never succeeds
Wi-Fi transfers from the Miraco Pro consistently fail at a100% with “Model failed to transfer,” even though the Miraco shows a successful transfer on its end. I confirmed Revo Scan 6 was correctly added to Windows Defender Firewall with BOTH “Private” and “Public” access enabled (the initial first-run prompt had only requested Public access, which I corrected), but the transfer still fails every time regardless. I have not found any configuration that makes Wi-Fi transfer work in Revo Scan 6. -
USB transfer failed with “Model load failed” until a specific cable/port/setting combination was used
USB transfers also initially reached 100% and then failed with “Model load failed. Import failed. Check the file and disk space, then retry.” This occurred with a USB-C to USB-A cable. It was only resolved after switching to the included USB-C to USB-C cable, plugging into a USB 3.0 port, and switching hardware acceleration to GPU mode. This should not require this level of trial and error for a basic file transfer, and Wi-Fi transfer remains completely broken regardless. -
3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Enterprise does not work correctly in Revo Scan 6
My 3D mouse works perfectly in Revo Scan 5 but only partially functions in Revo Scan 6 — zoom works, but pan/rotate and other functions do not. I found other users reporting this identical issue in your forum thread for the V6.0.0 release, so this appears to be a known, unresolved bug affecting multiple users.
Given the number and severity of these issues on a fresh install of a current release, I’d appreciate:
- Confirmation of whether these are known bugs and being addressed
- An estimated timeline for a patch, particularly for Wi-Fi transfer and the SpaceMouse issue
- Any guidance on the installer/permissions issue, since requiring administrator privileges just to open the software is not normal behavior
I’m happy to provide log files, screenshots, or further details on request. For now, I’ve reverted to Revo Scan 5, which works reliably for all of the above.
Thank you,
Stu
