Revo metro update V5.8.7

I just tested again the Revo Metro 5.8.7 with the team this morning and there was no issues with Full Field, everything working just perfect including the accuracy and smoothness at 0.05 mm

However if you do , I recommend manually removing the old software before installing the new one , because there can be sometimes a glitch if installing over the old software .

Also if the surface is not ok , a recalibration would be required especially if you have any issues with tracking in marker mode .

Hi @zundappchef you should have no issues with your graphic card even if use 2 of them because my laptop have 2 and works just fine , I just make sure that the software running on my RTX , you can change the settings in your NVIDIA panel and run your graphic card exclusive with Revo Metro.

My PC screen also runs on RTX 3090 , it can be sometimes glitchy when using laser mode so I set the setting for Perfomance . However it is much faster than my laptop’s RTX 4060 , but no issues with RTX 4060 whatever, and it is optimal at full speed frames with all Revopoint scanners .

My laptop is

i9 14th Gen , 64 GB RAM , RTX 4060 8GB

And it works optimal , Intel CPU will still run faster in Revo Metro and my CPU delivering the same speed frames as my GPU acceleration.

If you can get any CPU that is closer in power to i9 14th Gen you will be just fine .

Revo Metro requires minimal i7 13th Gen for laser mode , so that may be issue with your CPU in the latest version . I7 8th Gen is only good and optimal for Full Field mode and Auto mode.

Also if you update to RTX 4060 or RTX 5050 there is not really any benefit with GPU acceleration as the frame rate will be not faster . Maybe just better CPU to resolve the issues.

Try manually removing the old software before updating to the latest version , updating over the old version can create some glitches sometimes.

have you experienced wireless mode?

Testing the WiFi mode tonight , I am run full tests of 3 scanners so it consume my whole time yesterday to scan and process everything .

The Full Field issue was just glitch of the installation , had to manually reinstall it and problem was gone.

The Full Field in marker mode will not reach the full frame speed , it is always slower that in feature tracking so that is normal behavior .

You’re not paying attention; I’m specifically talking about the speed issue in full-field markerless mode (Wifi). However, I’ll try reinstalling the program manually after uninstalling it; the idea isn’t without merit.

I’ve never had great success in markerless mode. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten that mode to work as well as a dotted laser mode.

Stick some dots on it, or on some things around it and shoot in a marker’d laser mode, scanner will work fantastically.

I’ve got a buddy with a $30k + $2500/yr Simscan and it only runs on dots. And while better, it’s not that much better. For the price of a Revopoint, these things do amazing. I’ve had the MetroX and now the MetroY Pro and I’m a big fan of RP now. I’ve also had a $10k+ Einscan HX and the revo is better IMHO. Yes, the Simscan is better, but it’s annual maintenance is more than the 'Y cost and is just out of range for me - I’d have nothing if the Simscan were my only choice. Really wish I’d caught the Ultra, but I got my 'Y a couple months before it came out. Looking forward to what’s next.

The threads become discord chats, everyone talk over everyone it is hard to keep it up to provide some relief so bare with me.
